I believe it...there was a lot of energy in the water at Assateague Monday and Yesterday. 5 minute paddle outs if you got caught by a couple sets on your way out.

I can't believe how the kid must feel losing his father that way.

We saw the ambulance rushing down there as we were leaving yesterday. That's a damn shame.

It definitely started picking up, I surfed all morning into the afternoon, and I was beat.

I guy died out in Charleston - IOP to be exact. rip currents.
That storm form the Gulf is gonna pick up the next couple days, ripping up to the Carolinas. Tybee Island by Savannah put double red flags yesterday on the beach. I guess two reds mean sharks n rip tides...

    Sad.

Perfect example of something that would have avoided at a lifeguarded beach.

    16' on sunday whaaaaaaaaat....

and yea, point being why lifeguards are needed, because people who don't know how to swim put themselves in a bad situation going in the water.u know thousands of ppl going to the beach everyday walk right past that little sign that says swim sideways and yet it goes unnoticed every year

Actually saw a ski and a guy trying to toe in this morning right near Belmar! Idk what they where doing..

ANYWAYS- this weekend is going to be terrible for ppl drowning with the long period swell- so keep your eyes open after lifeguard hours for the New Yorkers who like to swim in rips- just tell them to get out of the water cause they are in a 'rip current' they'll get out- they are afraid of that word

nobody will die with the guards on duty, since theyr not even going to let anyone in the water.after hours,if theyr dumb enough to go in with that size, they will surely die...if they cant swim

Yeah, I don't even know if I want to try and go out. Maybe I'll catch the backside of this thing on Monday.
