I am in favor of the restrictions that are currently in place in the outer banks. You\'re right I don\'t live there, but I do live in close proximity. What bothers me most is the lack of foresight we didn\'t have and still don\'t have. My family has had property there for a long time, and I mean a long time, like before electricity. They are just as guilty as the next guy when it came time to get a little cash. Now i look at what we have done there and it gives me that pit you get when you know something bad is happening. I know there are a lot of folks that have livelihoods that depend on business directly derived from the very accesses that has been restricted, but the truth is most of those that complain arrived within the last 25 years. And the most damage has been done in the last 25 years. Geologists were saying 10 years ago that pea/Hatteras island had a lot of years before erosion would be a major issue, but check out those photos from Irene. That cash cow has been nearly milked dry and may get washed out to sea. So take a minute and think, I know that\'s asking a lot in today\'s I want it now society, just because you can does that mean you should.
