    Brahs and Brah-ettes,

Recently a lot of people have been telling me, "I really want to learn how to surf."

Heres my advice. Take a year of your life and just flush it down the drain. Go out every swell. Every chance you get. Deal with failure. You're going to want to quit.

But if you stick with it eventually things will click....and you'll be able to surf.

I just tell em if they're willing to paddle out with me when its cold and grey and not that purdy and get worked over, slammed, and run through the washing machine then yeah, I'll tell ya what lil I know. Otherwise, forget it.

Although when they are of the attractive female persuasion, I just say "sure".

We were camping at CB one time and there was a bunch of female UNCW students camping and one asked me if I could teach her to surf. I just pointed to the tent and said "come see me in the morning".

Thank ye gods I was blessed with a wife who doesn't get jealous. I told her aboot it and she just laughed and said "like you got a shot at that".

Good woman, and always there to keep me in check.

In order to learne to surf properly attention must be paid to properre etiquette. A rambling opening post on this here surf predictin forum is prerequisite, along with fake pics of your imaginary girlfriend.

Must also be proficient in sand reconne, swimming without floaties, and leash string maintenance and tying, so not to endanger others sharing the Mother O. A keen eye for extrapolating buoy readings, isobars, weather data are not required, just log onto the trusty SI and all will be revealed.

A brand new Coil, or a Firewire Tomo is a must to impress out in the lineup. Make sure you do your math and get enough volume (at least 26 L). That is all I have to offer. Please report back with lies on how well you killed it, and fake photos of your session from a go pro mouth mount you hacked. Don't forget to synch it to a really heavy Emo track to let us know how gnarly it was. Peace and waves ya'll.

Bwhahahaha, I am picturing some elevator music playing, and then a calm voice says, "And now a moment, with Barry Cuda". And then...
