man everyone is so damn picky.... there will probably be waves this weekend. I bet everyone sayings its not gonna be "perfect" will still be out there having fun. If not maybe you should pick a different sport!
ive noticed the forecasts from surfline and swellinfo vary by 2-3' for this swell. surfline is saying 5-7, while swellinfo is saying 3-4'+. i feel like surfline has been overforecasting a lot of swells recently. they used to underforecast them but in the last year or two ive seen a lot overforecasted. anyone else see the same patterns? time will tell with this one.
TOO BAD!!! North Nj has severe sand bar problems because of the recent dredge that has been going on. My advice is stay south of Long Branch, Deal and Asbury will be firing! Along with Bradley, Avon, and Belmar.. and on.
Surfline doesn't know. I feel like anyone paying attention to the charts and the surf that comes from each swell should have an idea where to go and what to bring. Love it when I can read between the lines and luck out on what SI says will be a 1 ft poopy swell and I score waisties all day. Thanks SI and YEWWW for the weekend warriors that are getting wet this weekend. FrothyMcFrotherson
i know everyone jokes abt belmar, but seriously, is it good? the jetties are interesting there looking from google earth. It's a bit far for me but was just curious where all this belmar talk started... with the 350lb reps and all.
I nice medium size S wind swell for the East Coast Friday into Saturday. But, also there is a good looking low sitting in the central North Atlantic that will send some E ground swells to the East Coast for the beginning of the week. Should be some fun surf in the days ahead. And, I'm ready for my 3/2, so, I"m stoked.
Dude- it's more then you could imagine- plus some! All the pros will probably be there this weekend too
1)- let's all hype a swell on the internet, so we an get more summer time kook surfers in our lineups 2)- only on the East Coast does a chest high wind swell get hyped. Embarassing... 3)- Winter swells don't get hyped. They passed by every epic weekend..those that scored all winter, know the deal. The rest read about it on surfline.
Surfline is WAAAAY off on this one. Every other force in the universe is saying something else. I went out this morning, it was predicted to be 2-3 on SI. It was about 1-3, super windy and crappy though. Had to go, cause the thunderstorms didnt show up. When I get back, I click on the surfline app and it says 4-5 feet, right now. On Hilton Head.... 4-5 my *&^ Yeah man, I don't know what rubbish surfline is on, but 5-7 sounds ways off. I know OC MD was supposed to get up to the 3-5 range at the peak of it all, but 5-7.... man, that would be sweet.
Well, since playoff hockey doesn't exist to me after last night and we've got less than beach-like weather coming our way after tomorrow, I'm jumping on anything knee and up with much enthusiasm. Get all you can at this point. The swell struggle is real. BWM - congrats on the fertilization of your female's eggs. Pray for a buoy!!!! Hope your karma is in check bro.
