Inlet outlet. Manasquan. Spellbinders. Allenhurst. Brave new world. point pleasant. longboard house. bay head. pretty much every town has a shop but Belmar is all that really matters... just sayin
Yeah, I can't blame ya, don't think I would enjoy it either with how things have gotten. And the only person I "follow" is my wife... to the bedroom.
Dude give it ten years, watch the generations who were born into the text acronym/IG/snapchat world...our language will be destroyed, their attention spans nonexistent, will be a tall order trying to teach them. And yeah, technology's great, but we'll always need reading and writing.
Everyday when I get home from school, I go to work then skate til dark if it not raining hahaha. Then I do homework. Then I go to bed. Repeat. I don't even own a phone. I'm 14.
Bought my first tri fin from Derf. But the best for me was Islanders in Longbranch, Vinnie was the man, it was the original surf shop in the area. As a youngster I would go in there and be in awe of all the gear and the pretty girls behind the counter, man that was along time ago. Now I live in OBX and I keep it local, bought my last board at the pit (owners great). Cavalier is great also, very local, having Murray make me a board right now at Galeforce Glassing, all local and just boards. Anyone know Peter Rhino? Heard he doesn't surf anymore!! Say it isn't true. Surely the world is coming to and end!
Cavvy's is sick, nice local shop for Nags Head area. Oh, and Dune works there! The PIT has the cheapest used boards ever. What bout the guys down at Real Watersports? Too commercialized? I'm reppin one of their big decals I got for free on the back of my truck.
SS Jaded much? Not trying to give you a hard time but this has been said about every generation through out history.
Page 4 of this thread ... you know what's up! Gale Force does some really good work too. I've had one or two repair jobs done over the years with these guys and I've never been let down.
He was a little confused. It didn't help that I didn't know what your name was. He was rattling off names and I was like "um... I don't know" I don't get down there too often, maybe once or twice a year. Better luck next time.
Warm Winds in Gansett is tough to beat. Good selection of everything and some cool and informed folks. PLUS, they've got some magicians doing board repairs. I brought my fave board in after crumpling a rail, thought she'd never be the same, and it was like new. (But I put my knee through a new timbertek yesterday, so we'll see how that goes.) And WB of course. Sid is the gnarliest looking prince you'll ever meet.
