Rockaway Surf Shop... isn't that where all the Australia/Challenger popouts come from? Not trying to talk sh*t, as I've never actually been in there, but correct me if I'm wrong.

If you're gonna spend money up here go into Boarders man! They're great people; it's family run, they help out the community, and it's always super chill there.

Sam at Bunger Sayville set me up with my first pair of gloves, booties, and some ding repair material. I told him I was fixing an old used Phoenix and he gave me the shaper's (Saunders) number. He actually called me back a couple weeks later! We chatted for a bit about the board. Super cool. That was my first board and I still surf it, I'll always have a soft spot for that shop and Saunders.

I have a Bunger board I love also. Saunders is shaping for them now, or was. I blew out the finbox of that board today, f*ck!!

I would agree. Dave, Phil, Ross, James and the crew at Cinnamon Rainbows are legit. They know surfing and have been an asset to northern New England since the early 80's. Great to deal with and great deals as well.

Hard to do, I know. Operator error: kicked out of a wave to go back to my stomach, somehow dropped my knee on it, hard. And have a sore knee as a reminder of my kookdom.

You ever meet/surf with a tatted-up dude named Vinnie who used to ride for Phoenix?

When I worked at an auto/machine shop on the island, that guy came in for custom sh*t. He was always building ratrods and other one-off stuff. When I was an ultra noob he offered me some free rashies but I never followed up.

There is one criteria for me to determine the best shop: how many rentals do they have in the water at any given time. Currently I'm partial to pioneers in nh (16 boards vs the hundreds cinnys and summer sesh rents out) and black point in Scarborough me.

It's gotta be anyplace in Bel-Freakin-Mar doesn't it?
Those guys have given me so much advice on rippin' 27 footers, shotting piers and nailing models and hell, I don't even live anywhere close to Belmar, so, yeah, any surf shop in Belmar rocks the freakin' Casbah.....
