Aight, so there's a couple avenues I need to search(going to look up classical influences on the Grateful Dead and check out some of Ed's recommendations), but as always, wanted to throw this out to our illustrious think tank.

I like a lot of instrumental music, but the Dead's jams aren't always relaxing, sometimes Miles makes me nervous, sometimes I don't wanna listen to 'crunchy' grooves, and ambient music makes me feel like a ghey.

So what do you fockers recommend for relaxing, classical stylee music, doesn't have to be piano but I mus say I started here and I do dig it...

Bonus points for trippiness or ability to convey the power of nature.

    Moonlight Sonata - Beethoven
    Eine kleine nachtmusik - Mozart
Symphony No 9 in D minor - Beethoven (esp. the ode to joy)
    Fur Elise: - Beethoven

Just a few to start. The thing about these, is most run the gamut from mellow to wide open.

Of just go youtubin' and get stuff like this:

No joke, been playing this genre when putting my kids to sleep for the past year or so. Pretty relaxing. Pandora has a good station for it: rock a bye baby radio...

Ha! Non-metal heads might not understand, but when I get worked up, playing something like Slayer or LOG calms me down. If I hear elevator music it just turns me into hulk smash mode.

Absolutely love B!tches Brew and Live Evil, never listened to ^that. On my list fo shizzle.

Actually did an experiment with BB...I never listened to an album for the first time on mushies. Had a feeling that'd be a good one to do it with. Ate 2.5, so as not to get too deep in space, it was fkn perfect. Amazing experience.
