Best surf spots in southern CT and north NJ

    I am new to the area and live in southern CT nine monthes of year and have no clue where to go to surf... any help would be great.

    There is no surf in the entire state of CT thanks to long island sound so it's going to be a long drive out of state unfortunately.

    Your best bet is probably Rhode island. It could be more difficult to travel to New jersey or New york beaches.

    The eastern most part of CT will get surf on a SE swell, but there's not a whole lot area in CT that will break.

    Where is this at and how long of a period swell would be needed? Fishers island shadows the mystic/groton area.

    it needs a seriously big/long period ESE swell to break in eastern CT..and the one spot that does break is mushy as can be.
