How could I melt a foam blank? I have an old board I was experimenting on with wood on top of the foam. I want to keep the wood in shape but get rid if the foam. Any suggestions?

Probably not the best idea to try since the foam will not disappear. If it is eps foam, then acetone will eat the foam away

18-22 gauge nichrome wire and a variac. Google "hot wire" for ideas

Project was aborted long ago. Someone needs to give Brandon_Roth a lesson in hyperlinks or show him how we treat spammers.

You might wind up with some awesome napalm if you use gas.

Have Yankee touch it... If Wayne is correct the foam will burn in Hell

Use a hotwire....that will be your best bet. You can easily make one if you don't want to buy one.
