Valhalla PMd me a few days ago about how are things. I signed in and saw the concern about Betty in a thread—very sweet. And Lance found a nice pic of me surfing last year! So here is a letter for the SI Buoys: To the Bouys: Betty was dealing with the impact of a direct hit by a Category 4hurricane, hunkering down, assessing the temporary and permanent damages, and then a follow up Category 5 hit.Surfing is not possible at this time, or at least at the same level as before. There is also a Tsunami threatening to hit in two weeks. The goal is to get eventually back in the ocean, unless a threatening Tsunami hits in the next week or two. Time will tell. Luckily, my crew is incredible, has reserved a spot in the lineup and will physically get me there and back home, and to the waters edge....Surfing is life. But when the Tsunami is lurking, you’re not thinking so much about ocean fun. Regardless, most likely my bigger wave days are gonna be over. I will be consigned to knee to thigh highs. But there is still the hope! I can still smile, still enjoy the sensation of being in the ocean, occasionally catch a sweet little ride... Besides, just being in the ocean with great friends and dudes is epic. I can be content on big days to fool around in the shallows or get a front row seat to watching friends score their waves. All the best to you Betty! Looking forward to your reports this season. It is what brings me back to SI.
I appreciate your soul Betty. You are a very encouraging person. I hope you have nothing but progress and success in life. Peace, love, and waves!
Good luck and well wishes Bettye, I'm sure things will turn for the better soon and you'll be back in the water in no time. Miss your positive posts, and this place could use a woman's touch for sure. Stay safe and stay stoked!!
Thanks for the kind words Buoys! I am Off to the big referral center today for a round of torture. When they ask my primary goals, the modest answer will be, “make me well enough to surf and wipeout in at least waist high waves for at least 45 minutes, twice a week”.
Take care, Betty. Wishing you the best. Stay strong and keep charging. Your positive attitude is inspiring.
So... you're saying you'll only be able to surf most days of the year? I'm jealous! Lol! Hang in there, sister... love and respect.
One of the best episodes ever. Johnny Cash voicing the coyote. Guatemalan insanity peppers. Homer's epic trip out.
Best of luck with your recovery, hope you get your toes wet soon, you have many followers and admirers here
