When I was gone for 6 months last year....did something happen to Betty? Did I miss something? I just realized I see no posts from her. I hope she is well!!
Don’t recall anything. Maybe she got tired of all the morons. I hope she is well too. Betty seems like a very solid lady...
Hello Buoys: First there was red tide for several weeks...,which sidelined all of us.....Then I moved into a new home which is more accessible...which kept me out of the lineup for a few weeks...Then, I became too incapacitated to surf or even go to the store without assistance. The beach , even just sitting there, was a total no-go.... It didn’t seem fair to others to risk having to stop surfing to bail me out....This is the first time I recall even checking this forum or the forecast in a long time.... But, I did move my boards to the new house this week, a sign of coming alive again...And did pester excellent husband to put up the board rack in a more accessible place...another good sign! ANd, my most excellent surf crew, about a dozen of them, are coming over for a good time and a good meal in a few days—-yet another totally good sign! I didn’t realize Valhalla dropped out of sight on the forum. That’s too bad: He was a voice of respect and reasonableness...I hope he is okay... Hello FLSURFDOG!
Edited to add: Rookie Question: The boards haven’t been used since early November. The wax looks a bit tired, although it was new looking then. It looks kind of flat, less bumpy than it ought to look, and had looked before this all happened. I hate to have to strip it all off and re wax it: every activity is arduous. Any advise? My doc is a surfer dude. Maybe he can offer advise? Perhaps an office visit today is a good idea, with the chief complain of “What should I do about my board wax?”
Maybe it just requires a good wax comb scraping?? Having said that, I am somewhat fastidious about my board wax getting too blackened by dirt, so I do periodically clean each one, when needed. Good to hear from you. I hope you get in the water soon.
I’m glad you are doing better Betty. Take a wax comb and scrape cross hatches into the wax to create some traction. That should do it but if you have some wax laying around, apply a small layer on top to freshen it up after combing it. Usually does the trick for me.
Let them sit in the sun for a little. Will make it much easier. Take an old credit card and scrape Congrats on the new home, I hope you’re feelin back to 100%
Well, there is the breath of fresh air. New house sounds super positive. Glad you checked in Betty. Be well...
^^This. Like 5 to 7 minutes will make like butter. Betty you are a wonderful person and an inspiration hope you get a few soon.
Betty!! So glad to hear from you - everything that’s been said is true; your a super Lady and full to the brim with Stoke. I don’t know what you have for a board wrack setup but I’d be willing to put something together for you that can be either wall mounted or on stands, for nada. Send you and your hubby the pieces and simple instructions and whalla, a really easy wrack to use and store. Makes surfnlife really easy lol. Anyhoo, glad you said hello!!!
I thought I remembered that Betty was actually a dude. Betty can you confirm your sex? If its one of the 86 new genders we should all know about please list that as well. Kind regards, RMDN
