Good to hear from you Betty! You are the Queen of Super Stoke. Hope you get in the water soon!

Flo was the tranny nobody liked, well, except maybe Barry, O
Ernest Hemingway defined courage as "grace under pressure "
That is you in nutshell Lady.
Great to hear from you Betty! Iv said it before and i'll say it again, your my idol. Your stoke is off the charts. I want to be like you when i grow up.
Hope you get some water time soon! Be well Betty.
You know you can count on me Betty, give the word I'll be be down there to help you out...hey, when's dinner....lol
Thanks FLSURFDOG— I know! I will never forget how you carried my board like it was light as a toothpick, from the parking lot to the beach... i don’t forget kindnesses like that. You and the locals are truly heroes in my eyes.
Yesterday, 11 of my female surf crew descended upon my home for an afternoon of fun with surf movies playing isnt eh background, and just a great surfer vibe. I will always have that...
Buoys, if you can no longe surf in your future, dont let go of the surfer mentality...keep thefriends, keep the stoke, keep it all. You have been, are, and always will be a surfer.
And I will do exactly that by getting my granddaughter to start learning to surf hopefully this summer. I already have 2 bellyboards ready for them- one for our daughter, and one for our granddaughter. Now all we need is summer and a few small waves!!
My surfing days will come to a close in the very near future; I hope to simply "pass it on" to my family as a "family activity".
That would be a wonderful legacy for sure FLSURFDOG! I always enjoy watching parents pushing the little ones into the waves, making it fun and not “work”.
The Legendary Ones always show themselves. Slide On Ms. B!
As we say around these here parts..."Betty would go!
Ohhh, Betty we will see you out there soon enough, not to toot my horn or anything, but I already feel like I'm already part of the Jetty, 48 yrs. of surfing all over the place, but your homebreak will always be home, and this is the place where you always see your friends, cant replace your hommies.
Betty is ready for the jetty. The question is:
Is the jetty ready for Betty?
So, this week, I tried a new med, actually went out with husband for an outstanding brunch beachside, was hypnotized watching the ocean. Yeah, it was a shorepound break...
But, ever hopeful, I had stashed board shorts and rashguard in the car....
Did a quick change, and actually walked from the restauarant 100 steps to the ocean! Best walking in months!! So stoked!
So, I waded into the 74 degree lucious mother Ocean....and took a powerful whitewater ride in body surfing with the energy of the ocean. Thinking, if I die doing this, it is a great way to go....
But, having survived, thought, maybe I can surf ... waiting for a good knee high day, warm since I can no longer wrestle into a neoprene suit, to make a comeback...
Still smiling remembering that day...holding onto that memory for now...
That put a huge smile on my face, Betty.... thank you. Made my day.
Betty would go...
I needed something. I’ve needed something for quite a while truthfully, but I didn’t know what I needed...
Then I read this.
Thank you Betty.
If I could like this post a million times, I would!
Bumping for the super epic positive vibes!
Great news, OWG (Ocean Warrior Goddess)! I'm stoked you have something to look forward to.
Hoping to surf in the coming week. Have a few members of my crew lined up...and husband to cart me around....an infusion this week....and my handy med for that morning...hoping to paddle out...and stay out of the ER ...
So far, have accomplished my first step: thinking about it, identifying the wave in the forecast. Now to see if the ranger will drop off R2D2 early enough...So far, have accomplished the first. Will spruce up the wax on my fave board tomorrow...
Terrified and stoked...Ok to bail ....ok to just show up....
Keep the faith!! Hope that new med is helping you!!
And it *IS* okay to just show up!!
