I thought it was building faster last night and it would be bigger. I like in better in this range though. It looks to be breaking really nice in most places. Can't wait to hit it after work at 5pm.

thats a tough one to call. the RIDEABLE SURF (spot); you know where doods were actually doing it...was
about 6ft.....HOWEVER...the majority of absecon island was just thrashed with swell wed night on into the
early morn.....i mean, really IMPRESSIVE SETS...so 10ft sets at albany av early morn he was prob right...
i'll say it again some of the sets were downright shocking....

Ah, EC surfing. A wonderful thing. You better have been at the exact GPS locale, and the precise time and then you would have had yourself a really solid 2 hour surf widow. Miss it, and you get a s!@t sandwich.

Apparently it went from good to bad within 4 miles radius. Those precious little hurricane chop swells.

Where I was it was smaller than reported. Wind was called correctly and nothing else. I figured SI stuck to their/his guns with Surfline even though anyone with a pair of eyes saw that was not that.
But I am not complaining, it was a very nice day with some fun summer waves.

Correction...not a 2 hour window. 1.34 hour window. Afterwards, the wind would be on it, the swell subsided, the tide wrong and sand bar shifted to the left.

All you had to do was walk along the beach till you found a spot firing far enough out to warrant a ride. I walked for about a mile watching HH slam onto the sand and enjoying the thunder until.... BINGO. Sets breaking on a bar about 40yrds out. Just peeling clean HH+ bombs. All to myself.
This was about 6PMish.... stayed out till dark. Still stoked.
If you didn't catch this swell you just didn't work hard enough or want it bad enough.

I am not in NJ. Not every locale got the same swell/conditions. But Belmar was 2XHH and firing.
6 to 8ish...? Now that is a nice 2hr window!

No complaints here, hopefully more next time!

no - uptown in front of revel at the spot called metros - 6ft and quite nice til crowds ruined it.
afternoon sesh was at vpier; actually a couple blocks down...

upon further reflection......your ACBP guy; estimate was conservative....

there is no big wave spot on absecon island....in general....most or all max-out at 6ft....having said that
    outside vpier was holding...

if you know the over 50 crowd then you prob know me....and......(sorry to rub it in)........yes.....you
would have liked to have been there. giant surf and in-between lake-like lulls....even the kayakers
    could make it out....
