was looking at bike racks online and theyre pretty expensive $75+. I figured itd be much easier to just make one with PVC pipes but not sure how to go about it or if i should just buy one. itd be a for a 5'11 and a 6'4. Let me know if anyone has any idea how to go about making one
I have made the pvc rack before and i can tell you from experience that just buying the carver surf rack is worth the money. I got the longboard rack becuase its sturdier. THe problem with pvc is that it it doesnt handle torque very well, and the design I had kept sliding off the frame which was attached with hose clamps. 75$ isnt that much considering that fixing the damage to your board after it falls off the pvc rack will most likely exceed that. Just my opinion. Good luck.
i saw a kid with a custom built "roof rack" made of PVC (I'm assuming). It was pretty cool. I guess clamp something to the upper frame right behind the handle bars going straight up to the body of the rack. The other support goes from the back axle maybe? and meets the back of the body. It had bungees and everything. Pretty sick!
