It is up to the reader / listener to weed through the opinion to get to the facts. Once you have identified facts, you can then form your own opinions. This is my way of doing it at least. The rest of it as I say, is just for entertainment.
Not peer reviewed research. Not unbiased. http://web.archive.org/web/20011031010631/www.exxonmobil.com/contributions/public_info.html Having worked in the petroleum industry, I think it is comical that people claim that thousands of climatologists are skewing data for the measly funding they receive, yet billion dollar oil companies are playing an honest game. Surely risking the end of your career as a climatologist and having fraud in your records is worth a $70k/yr job. Millions of dollars are spent every year by the ExMo/Shell/BP lobbyist, and it is there for all to see. Don't buy into anything science based that can't be presented for peer review. It may not be perfect, but it is better than no peer review. I shouldn't have taken a break from my swellinfo retirement. This forum has reached new lows. Oh well, back to developing next generation combustion technology...
Thanks KR, but I don't think I'll be allowed back. Esp. since I'm apparently one of those people now. And they ain't welcome around these here parts.
Not true dude. You are more than welcome around these here parts. Differing opinions is good to have. Don't take it too seriously, it's just a friendly debate. Besides, I can't speak for everybody, but I like you and your posts.
Original Poster sells windows for a living and does not parade around selling overpriced surfboards to millionaires, however Original Poster does indeed build and design Lightweight Plywood surfcraft currently in Original Posters parents Barn.
Welcome back, brew. And 100% agreement on your statements above. Peer review is the way great science works......usually, with some errors.
Always had the utmost respect for Brew. Been around too long to not be highly skeptical of MM Global warming (doubly so since so since the Left embraces it)
+1 .. Salient points. In fact, I personally would prefer the focus be on the effects of all the unatural items dumped into the environment (water, air, etc.) and into our food stocks rather than climate change, which to the degree it is influenced by man cannot and has not been determined. It's the other chemicals, not CO2 (which is part of the eco-cycle), which imho are of greater concern.
Hey, man. I was just thinkin about you. It's BBQ time, bein 4th of July. I seem to recall some awesome smoker you packed full of yardbird a while back. Pretty sure it was you. I'm old, and memory ain't perfect, but... You're a pro. It's BBQ time.
yeah dude for sure, like its pretty obvious that the chemicals in the water are turning the friken frogs gay.. and other details like the waste on the beaches in South America.. Ive seen it!... The priorities are all screwed up, instead we get Al Gore and Leo DiCaprio and the like preaching all day about CO2 and how we must change the energy sector, meanwhile Al Gore stock portfolio is laced with green energy... what a joke
And it's this exact reason why all those who believe that we must regulate CO2 to avoid an environmental doomsday should take note. While world leaders like Tredaeu and Obama talk to us like kids about CO2 they don't talk sh!t about pesticides destroying the water supply because Monsanto lined their pockets and MMCC is a scam designed to deindustrialize first world nations.
Every time I feed my dog a few slices of smoked turkey for lunch, he is a completely passed out, snoring dude in my office for the entire afternoon. And then come the emissions. Global in scale. And I wonder....does this have anything to do with climate change....?!?
Me too! When they were inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2013, it was a Kodak moment. Foo Fighters introducin em, then they came out and SHREDDED! If you saw it live on TV, you know... Geddy Lee can't hit them notes so high that only dogs can hear em anymore, but he still plays the bass with the best of em. Neil Peart can WAIL on that drum set, with, like, 200 drums, like an alien. And Alex Lifeson can play impossible sh!t and he ain't even tryin. Rush, the best thing to ever come outa Canada. Even better than Frankie, or Mr. Barry's wife. LOVE ME SOME RUSH! Thanks Barry, I am not talking about an editorial page...I am talking about the current state of journalism in our country (they just happen to be the same thing at this point). New York Times, Fox News, NBC (MSNBC), and most others are themselves publicly traded, or their parent companies are publicly traded. Meaning they have shareholders to answer to. I can assure you, pleasing shareholders is more important than objective content or reporting to the executives of those companies. Each of them has their base audience and they feed their base audience what it wants to keep them coming back. All for the sake of generating revenue. The almighty dollar has all but eliminated altruism in any shape or form.
