My sister got me front row tickets and a meet and greet with him at msg through her work while she entertains clients or something. I'm 25 so he was a little before my time, I mean his music is timeless but I dont really know thaat much about him. Thoughts? PS this is not a normal occurrence for me.
F*ck it dude, go! He's got some good jams. Not too many interesting places around MSG, but you'll find something to do afterward, and if not, it's right by the train. Growing up, I thought Billy Joel was only known up here. Turns out hes a big f*ckin deal, huh? PS. See if your sister can get us some discounted group Rangers tickets...
Cool dude & serious musical artist, that Billy Joel & respected in the industry. Check this out: lets a kid accompany him on piano while Joel is playing a gig at Villanova. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxLjtx8wukQ
However you feel about his music, he is an all time great. It'd probably be worth it just to say you did it.
What isn't...concert going? Social interaction in public? Axing for advices on SI treadz? lol BBP you good bro
um, he WAS great. now its just career maintenance and $$. sorry but someone my age has heard his stuff too much.
All three are not normal occurrences in my life. I was specifically however referring to going to a concert 1st row VIP kinda thing not being normal for me. Anyway it was pretty awesome I gotta say my sister really earned herself sibling points last night. Took the train to NY Penn. 2 and a half hours. Drank 2 Ballantines, 1 Fosters, 1 Cape of Good Hope ale by Yards. Got off the train and ate Roy Rogers alone across from Penn Station, it really sucked and was all soggy. Met up with my sister and went into some lounge back stage or something at MSG. Kabitzed and schmoozed a little with people. Open bar so I had like 3 Budwiesers and two shots of Dewars. My lovely girlfriend got there and we kinda pscyhed each other up. So I asked my sister "So how does this work is he going to make an appearance here and then we all like......line up and meet him or what?" Then she told me that only four people got to meet him. I was so nervous and excited then! SOOOOOO we then went down a bunch of plain corridors and down a service elevator, looked like we were in the movie saw. We all stood in a group and Billy Joel came out. He was smiling and nice with us. The other two people took their picture with him....he cracked a joke about how he used to be tall but he got hip replacement where they cut off the top of your hips. I kinda thought he was serious until I had a minute after to think about it.... Then everyone motioned over that it was me and my gf's turn and my sis hoped in the picture too. I shook his hand and said "have fun tonight", he thanked me. We got into picture taking pose. Last minute I went for the arm around Billy Joel. They took the picture. We all said goodbye. Back to open bar. Another beer. First row for his show. Packed house. Sting and John Mellencamp each came out and did a song. It was fun. Left after the show. Grabbed two hot dogs from Nathans and 2 twenty four ounce beers from vendors at Penn. Got on the train. Ate the dogs, drank a beer. Had a one hour stop over in Long Branch. Drank the other beer at the station alone at 2am. Got on the train home. Accidentally fell asleep. Woke up to "Where are you getting off bud?" at my stop so I got off the train as it started to rain. Just me and some 6'3 hooker were left and got off there. We both *****ed about the weather. She got into some beat up car and they sped away. I walked home 5 blocks and passed out on the couch in my boxers.
I see you didn't elaborate on when your girlfriend ditched you during the night, because you ended up with with a big she-he at the end of the night.
Allow me to elaborate... We had to go different places because of work in the morning. The she-he and I just happened to cross paths and I thought it would add to the story because of the sheer randomness factor.
BBP, your storytelling skills are on the ride each day. Glad you got stoked and had a weird legendary night! Dis tread is good. I laughed at it.
