I'm just looking for a quality board repair in this thread, not a surfing partner. Does he do good work at a decent price?

Anyone here have any experience with Ed Camara? He's been recommended by several guys I trust and is closer to where I live than the Narragansett shops , but I haven't come across his contact info yet. PM me if you don't want to post it publicly.

    Thanks!
    Jake

Exactly. And when you respek cats in every lineup you go your name won't often be tattered when it comes up in convo. You get what you give. Based on that dude's self-imposed entitlement you'd think he was the muhfuggin United Way of the surf world. If you're hinting that longevity affords you leniency in integrity, we may have differing mindsets. My model of respek is one that's paid into and drawn from on the daily, not a trust fund that sets you for life because of earlier works.

Not trying to crucify the dude, just saying he craps where he eats on occasion. However, some of you feel a bronze statue should be commissioned in his honor on Memorial Boulevard.

Hahaha sorry Jake, you're a good dude. This all started when I gave my worthless two cents rebutting who I thought you shouldn't go to for board surgery. Was trying to stick with the tread and then everyone took LSD and lost their mind.

That's no simple fix for a first ding repair, but you may want to look into cultivating your repair skills if you're to stay in this game and in the water often. The most dings you'll get will occur early on so it's a good idea and not very hard to get acceptable at doing. It's fun too if handiwork is a hobby.

HAHA, good luck in your search dude, if you can't seem to find anybody to fix it, then try your hand at it yourself. Youtube videos and a ding all ding repair kit will probably get you through it if worse comes to worse. Won't be the prettiest repair but if you follow instructions well, you can at least make it water tight. This thread is already derailed so good luck trying to keep it on the tracks! SI at it's finest...

Jake, tons of board repair tutorials on Youtube. No need to pay someone in this day and age.

Ya brah but it seems to be one of the more prominent places when a figure of such immortal stature is to be gilded for eternity.

No one took LSD, I prefer psilocybin...my only point is I don't think it's right to drop 'irl' names and then talk disparagingly about the individual...if anything, just tell JakeF where to go.

Still blabbing. You wreak of kook. My line-up ranges from 12 to 70 and we all surf - a lot, and everyone gets respect and nobody runs their mouth. You got some shots of yourself pulling into a few bombs you want to share with us? Get a few 5 mil barrels this February? I bet you have some radical surf stickers on your car. Keep shredding up the forums brah. You are a real internet surf legend.

I've done enough automotive body work that I wouldn't hesitate to do it myself if it wasn't so close to the fin plug. Even so, I'm sure I could get it water tight easily enough, just not sure about the structural integrity of the fin. It has been suggested several times that I should lose those side bite fins on my LB anyway and just use the center fin only, so maybe it's not that big of a deal ...

Not for any Gansett ding-dongs it ain't. The navy base was built facing west so as to keep them Gansett kooks out

Definitely do this man. I love how mine rides so much better than when it was 2+1. Went I went to the single fin it was a game changer. Just make sure your center fin is one inch for every foot of board you got. Then push that bad boy all the way up in the box to loosen it up, you'll be swinging that thing around and having so much more fun I bet.

Bro the LSD was a play on his company name coupled with the collective insanity as you cats conspired to raise a banner for Levy. Is it any secret that LSD boards (not the real one in AUS) is Levy? Hasn't he been promoting his name locally since surfboards were 15 foot and heavy wood non-Royboards? There's no enigma who owns LSD boards and Levy would not want it to be, nor would any businessman. I did tell JakeF where to go, and that's the store so he can get repair goods and enjoy the process of fixing his own board. So SI can't be a surf version of Yelp? Wasn't JakeF coming here for assistance? seldom do the right thing and walk out the cubicle at once and hit up Newport for drinks and wahines and maybe a mushy wave. It's too damn nice out.

Yeah bro, I'll sit in silence while your mouth is run to the tune of improper English. One wreaks havoc, and reek means to stink. We could go back and forth with phonetic spelling or even pidgin if you'd like. I charged as much or more in February than you did yourself son. Yeah bro, got so many decals on the whip - Xhibit pimped my ride and cut in half each of a Prius and Forester and put em together for the ultimate kookmobile. I'm still in town dog, we could do this SI style and have a break meetup. Heck, I'll even do you a solid and meet you at YOUR break. Are you Levy, bro?

You're set then and can already do a more than adequate job. Just takes time and some craftsmanship. Do what the other lads said and YouTube a bunch of vids and you'll be stoked on fixing your own boards. Think about it...the more you surf the more you'll continue to ding your boards, albeit at a lesser rate. Having that skill is key. At least to get it water-tight in between more permanent fixes so you can still get out on the break.

Ive surfed with Dave a thousands of times over the years and have never seen him get in an "altercation" with anyone. and ps the dude rides boards best suited for the conditions.

His son surfs better then all of you, and just like his pops, hes a good dude. And as seldom said, hes been a big part of Rhode Island surfing since the the beginning.

No offense to you emass but if you got problems down here, keep your ass up there. youve complained about him on here before, you must have had a really bad time surfing down here.

I think you missed the fact that I picked up on your word play and responded in kind.

HAHAHA! You sure about that? He's average at best compared to dudes on the west coast. Actually, kinda below average. That's the truth

Hayduke, there was no altercation. The drop-in was minimized by me moving to a different peak. It was a dope day there and waves were nonstop. Manisses was the one suggesting that his golden boy would reek havick on my facial structure despite his near-geriatric time clock. I think the only time I'd entertain actual physicality in the lineup would be if my safety was greatly threatened or my board was significantly damaged and the culprit lacked accountability.

Schitt happens, bro. It's the demeanor and how you respond to issues that make a situation what it is. The dude's attitude about the whole thing was what exacerbated it and left me willing to talk about it at later dates. Do I start treads on here bout the dude? No, but I'll chime in when he's brought up as some pillar of society and the greatest thing since surf wax. You think this is that big of a deal to me, well it's not. You guys are sticking up for your buoy (and I respek loyalty - good on you) with me not backing down on here when Manisses runs his Rhodey mouf hard and that's what's making this a debacle. What, you guys don't like a good debate on SI? C'monnnn it's summah flatness.

Also, Hayduke, I clearly do dig it down here as I keep coming back. Until a couple weeks ago, hadn't been back since November since it was so good up in MA/ME/NH all winter and spring and I was also out west a bunch. Lineup function was really good two weeks ago when I was here for a good swell and that was on a day where there were more penguins in the lineup than I'd ever seen here. It's a good place, this Rhodey, and I'm stoked it's within reach.

Making sure bro! You're typically on top of that stuff but man can lose his wits when he's heated.

Onto the bigger issue...please proceed to stand up in said cube, pretend to puke into your hand, run to the men's room, then run to the parking lot and peel out of it blasting Twisted Sister's We're Not Gonna Take It. No one's gonna question that bro, and I'll see you at the wharf in two hours.

Do you bring your computer with you on your little surf trip to Rhode Island? Are you in your surf sticker mobile posting radical messages and surf advice filled with gems like "Think about it...the more you surf the more you'll continue to ding your boards, albeit at a lesser rate. Having that skill is key. At least to get it water-tight in between more permanent fixes so you can still get out on the break." GET OUT ON THE BREAKS! Maybe you are laid out at 2nd beach with some gnarly surf babes while furiously typing on your Iphone? "Hold on ladies, before I go out and pull some radical airs over these kook locals I've got to give a few bros some advice on this surf forum I furiously post on even though I've never repaired a ding in my life."

Go charge back to Mass. In your surf sticker mobile. With a radical Volcom tee shirt on you absurd buffoon.
