hey does anyone have any experience riding Roberts "Meat Cleaver" or the "Modern Gem"?? Trying to decide which is a better everyday board. I want a board that grovels well in knee high mush but will also hold in head high surf. Any thoughts suggestions? Thanks

you're asking a lot from one board...too much. I have a modern 80s, which is a wider version of the modern gem, and it doesn't do knee-high mush. You're talking something more along the lines of a white diamond or the WD2.

Just picked up a dreamcatcher. I groveled this past weekend so I didn't use it. It looks sexy as h3ll through. Tough to get a grovel and a good-wave board in one but the description for the dreamcatcher seems fitting... "Will function well in everyday surf due to the moderate rocker, fuller rails and nose outline. Also works great very hollow fast waves due to the pulled tail and double concave." I still like a true groveler for those small days.
