Hey guys i was wondering if anyone was good with boats on here. My dad has about a 12 year old 23 foot center console and im looking to install a boat stereo and some speakers. do you guys think this will be a hard, time consuming process or an expensive one? any tips or advice about going about this would be great

I would say it mostly depends on the condition of the existing wiring... if there is a nice fuse panel with a couple of empty/axillary breakers, then it should be pretty easy... Especially if there are unused aux switches on the dash too.

The only other semi-hard part is cutting out holes for the speakers, and the unit itself if your installing it IN the console.

Just a tip, the speakers will sound and project better if they are backed by something from the inside, i.e. a small speaker box or just some sort of insulation around the inside will do.

like said before, shouldn't be too bad. Its a relatively new boat, so it should have a power bar in the console. I just took a stereo, and cut the "plug" for the car off of it and hardwired everything. should only need a power, ground, speakers and an antenna if you want it.
    what brand is the boat?
remember, measure twice, even three times, and cut once
