bodyboarders: bat-tail vs crescent tail board

I dont have any desire to go back to bodyboarding. ive been surfing for almost a decade at least 3 seasons a year.....Im not the kind who talks shhhit to bboarders but I myself am a surfer and always will be

 

If ya know how to ride a BB.......you wont slide out on anything. The board helps but any setup will do fine. Figure out how to use your fins in the face..............

Ive had sessions on no channel bats and they work great. I currently went from a bat and channel to a crescent and channel. Crescent is faster and bites more IMO.

If I were you, I wouldn't buy a comercial board like bz, mike Stewart ect or any other mass produced board. Check out some oz made boards. Reon Fisher is a shaper from the land down under and has some sick ranges for Manta and 4play. The first step to buying a new board is to figure out where u are as a rider. How do you ride, are a flow rider, u pop fat airs and spins? Myself personally, I ride pro model boards bc there is more input from the pro to the shaper of what could be tweaked from handling, to speed, to recoil. As for fins I rock pod 2's, they are nasty in the water, they channel water nicely and they have tremendous thrust and they are super stylish. Make sure u do ur research and don't buy a board cause it looks cool or it's a good price. Ur the rider so u want a board that compliments ur style of riding. Hope this helps

 

Those boards are EXPENSIVE. Going to be hard competing with Brands & team riders of those brands that have been around for years with the high price tag.

 

Looks like that board has been exposed to some extreme cold and/or snow sledding.

Probably coldness. No snow sledding not on that board. You shoulda seen the older BZ I used to use for that! I wish I had a picture of that thing to show you.
