ive had my boots for about 2 years now and there starting to get a weird smell to them thats hard to describe lol.

is there anything out there that can get rid of the smell? ive heard of some product i just forget what its called. ive tried dish soap and it worked when i was washing them out but once the boots started to dry more they started to smell again

maybe of you stop pissing on yourself so much it won't get worse, cause peeing in your booties makes em smell weird
just give them a thorough bath and you'll be straight.

the odor might not be a big deal, but the reason why it smells might be.

I've got some pretty gnarly toe nail fungus going on, and I am pretty sure that it is do to me not properly washing my booties and having bacteria growing in there. Sounds pretty nasty doesn't it... so, if you are booties are reaking really bad, it might be worth getting some new ones.

    Problem solved!!

Most of the time smelly boots are from the fact that they don't dry very well after a session. A week or so ago we had a thread in wetsuit dryers which I wasn't a big supporter of. I usually just hang my wetsuit up and it's dry the next day. Booties on the other hand take a lot longer to dry so I decided to try a boot dryer and I have to say it works great. I wring them out after flushing with freah water and put them on the boot dryer. Within 2 hours they are completely dry. I was impressed. It works on gloves too. Here is the link.....no more smelly boots:D

That's WAY more information than we need to know. By the way, OCM is one of the top shots on Seaweed for October. It's about time, eh? http://magicseaweed.com/photoLab/topMonthlyPhotos.php

    Sink the Stink

You can buy a product call Sink The Stink, its made for wetsuits, so that they don't smell. Put Sink the Stink in a bucket with your booties, and let it sit overnight. It kills the smell. Enjoy!

Ya, but hopefully that will be a reminder to wash out the booties! I am bad with leaving them set out for days/weeks.

if you can, dry them inside out somewhere outdoors, but in the shade.

Who cares about the smell, just don't leave your boots/gloves in a totally closed up location. I strap them to my surf rack after a session to air out all the Booty Juice.
