First, the ammo thing is all a ploy by ammo manufacturers to get Jethro to go out and buy as much ammo as he can.

Now, y'all been doing some discoursing here, but I'm just going to comment on one thing: I've seen some praise of conservatives going down here. No surfer should be a conservative. Wow, surfing really has attracted a new breed.

Anywayswho, republicans are phony, hypocrits who fall into three categories:

    1. Rich greedy bas-tards. The worst people on the planet.

    2. Rural rubes who make less than $20,000 a year but think the GOP is great because of guns, misguided and misunderstood "patriotism," a cluelessness of what freedom is, and prejudice.

    3. Older folks who believe the current crop of conservative leaders will bring back the days of Eisenhower and Leave it to Beaver(which is just the greatest show).

Conservatives YELL " LESS GOVERNMENT !!!" but they support the drug war, seatbelt laws and all sorts of freedom restricting laws made to protect us from oursleves. That's not "less government." THEY ARE THE GOVERNMENT......so yeah they want to lose power and influence. Ok......

The GOP YELLS, "LESS GOVERNMENT SPENDING !!!!" but again has spent hundreds of billions per year for the last 40+ years to fight a "war" against plants and their derivatives. And it has achieved NOTHING. Sounds like a waste of money to me. The GOP only supports less spending when it comes to cutting social programs, which is completely contradictory to their, " I LOVE JESUS" personas. PHONIES.....HYPOCRITS

AT the NRA convention that Cruz dude from Texas patted himself and Rand Paul for filibustering the recent gun law changes and celebrated that they enforced a special requirement for the vote in the senate, not by majority, but a requirement to get 60 votes(51 votes wins a usual vote.) And he celebrated that his opposition only got 56(or was it 55) votes.

Then 3 minutes later he cries and complains about how democrats filibustered one of his previous gun legislations and how they made it a 60 vote requirement in the senate........... Do you see the absolute hypocrisy?

Got an proof on the ammo thing since I'm pretty sure I could find the DHS purchasing contracts.

Find the DHS contracts. That would be much more interesting than my proof which is based on an 8th sense. I told some of y'all before - I just know some things. Maybe Jesus tells me? I don't know.

Maybe eses, that the DHS is buying up ammon not to keep y'all from playing with your guns, but because they know America is aboot to be attacked or something....hmmmmmm. Because I'm sure with the governments tanks, air planes, drones, missles, nukes.........that they are really scared of Jethro with a 22 pistol and a shotgun.........yes they must keep the bullets away from Jethro........so they can install martial law ........and touch us inappropriately

Well our military might could absolutely DECIMATE A-STAN and IRAQ if we actually invaded the country and didn't fight a "selective" war worrying aboot colateral damage......No we didn't learn anything in Vietnam. I'm a degenerate, right, but I could have ran the war in A-Stan better than our leaders did. You can't fight a war against an enemy who wears no uniform epspecillay being concerned for the innocents. SO you don't just set up bases and go on patrolls.....that's just making our boys targets. It should have been special ops with forces ready to go at a minute's notice when the "real" enemy was located. Stuff like that.

If the government is installing martial law gainst its own citizens I think they would be passed the point of caring aboot their image and colateral damage...So yeah their heavy artillery would be effective.

That's my opinion...oh wait sorry my opinions are facts. HA !! Hap hap schrap you are.........

I might regret even asking, but why are the gun folks all wound up? The gov't can't even pass a background check law (oh damn no more sketchy arms deals at flea markets...), your guns aren't going anywhere.

Right on Lee.......why are gun nuts so wound up? Actually the constitution is kind of old and the founders probably didn't imagine 300,000,000 people, modern weaponry, and how disturbed so many people are these days.

Besides, the premise was to keep a regulated militia full of SINGLE SHOT muskets to protect the citizens from an overbearing government in much shakier times. And 99% of American gun owners aren't buying guns because of their fear of the government. Though some will say that, but trust me, they wouldn't take up arms against the government at all. Big talk from a 9-5'er, with a family, a mortgage, a twitchen car, and a good golf game..........

The whole thing is insane....ludicrous. All the conservative gun owners talking aboot how Obama is after their guns and trying to take away other freedoms.

What other freedoms is he trying to take away???

He has passed two friggin gun laws and they WERE BOTH PRO GUN.......

So, after Sandy Hook he should have been completely inactive aboot it all, huh? Then the same gun nuts would have blasted him for inactivity. Can't win with these people cause they don't deal with FACTS. I mean, what does it say aboot a group of people who prop people like Ted Nugent and Sarah Palin?

It has been tweaked......I can't just say anything. I can be sued for defamation. I can be arrested for creating a public nuiscance or causing public panick.........etc.

Hey pumpmaster, you're from The Woods, right? Man I used to spend time there when I was a younger dude, and then I hadn't been there in 18 years. So, July of 2008 I went to an old haunt, Diamond Beach and what the hecks, man? Man, that used to be a no man's land where the there were no lifegaurds(further south) and all was cool.....

Now it's all developed and shoot, and I paddled out, just knowing things had changed and had the gaurds all over me in a second. I must say I do like when I make them enter the water......So they are telling me I gotta split and I said, " Ok can I at least catch a friggin wave in?" And I've never seen such uptight people. Then he started to bro-down with me on the beach telling me where the surfing beach was. It was actually kind of fun out there too. Man, that sucks.......

Why did you guys let that happen? Why does "progress" have to ruin everything?

you can still get into diamond beach. the wildlife area is totally offlimits now. its funny because WW has been shutting down the beaches for hurricane swells and diamond beach is the only place you can get into and surf.

as far as the gun thing, i will just say that most gun people are super passionate about this issue and leave it at that. if you aren't really into guns, you will have a hard time getting it.

I am really into guns. Well, I used to be. I was born and raised in central WV, and I have been shooting since I was a young kid. That said, I haven't seen any laws passed that make me afraid of losing my guns. The only laws that seem to get through are focused on background checks, which I support. The assault rifle laws were retarded and ineffective, so I doubt that will go through again. I also don't think they will be able to pass magazine limits. No president is going to take our guns away. They can't, and they know the repercussions of trying.

I get it. I have a gun. A nice one. I bought it from a gun shop and my background got checked. That was like 6 years ago.

Ammo shortage... completely self imposed by the gun lobbiests who told everyone that "OBAMA GUNNA BAN ARRR GUNZZ" so the manufactures and suppliers upped the price, limited production, and all of the GOD FAIRIN' gun owners ran to buy it up by the brick, it sold out, and now look. That's right, I am telling you that the NRA caused the ammo shortage. Good thing I have the 25 rounds of 9mm that I got when I bought the gun. Hopefully it's 25 too many.

Oh well, if it's not something, it's something else. Peace and chicken grease.

“I should put Obama’s picture on the wall up there,” said one New Jersey gun salesman, asking not to be identified. “I’d name him salesman of the month!”

So all of the ammo manufacturers in the US got together around a table and said "Look here guys, we need to make some more money. Let's all make a fortune by limiting how much ammo we will make. That way every round we produce will be snapped up by all the Jethros in the good ol USA. None of us will have to worry about unused inventory!"

With that said all agreed to go home and shut their plants down and go on vacation for a couple of months. And, not one of the participants thought to himself, "If I only take a 1 month vacation then I will be the only one selling ammo in the country. Yeehaww! I'm gonna be rich!"

Yeah, right. Not only would it be stupid, they could all land in jail for a very long time.

It might have something to do with the DHS wanting to buy 1000 more rounds per person than the army uses. Even if their purchase request of 750 million rounds is exaggerated by 75% it's still a fark load of ammo. And, I bet there are a lot more pencil pushers in DHS than in the army.

Two 12 round mags loaded and ready, and one in the chamber because guns aren't toys. I don't personally feel the need to stock up. Maybe after I shoot 24 people that will change.
