Finding myself somewhere in between you and the young'uns your post is directed towards.... let me redirect your question back at you: What HAVE YOU done to "right the ship" in your half century? I don't mean this as a personal attack at all. I think that we all need to ask OURSELVES this question rather than asking others what they are doing. As for myself, I haven't been any Gandhi or Mother Theresa, but I try to do what I can within my own little sphere... volunteering in charity events (not just donating money), teaching kids how to surf, coaching kids soccer, and most importantly challenging my own assumptions. That being said... I can always do better. WE can do better, i'm sure of it.
You're not getting it. If you think your rights werent comprimised since 9/11 your crazy. Im pretty sure low level governers wouldnt be involved too. Lets take the current ammo situation. The govt just bought 1.6 billion rounds recently because they "got a good deal", its just Obamas way to attempt to control guns. People who dont have their hands over their eyes wouldnt know or care about things that dont affect your day to day life. We are letting corruption creep into the system and if it goes unchecked it will run wild. We continue to vote for the "lesser of two evils" when it comes to presidents. We are going to have inherently more and more evil people. Those leaders dont care about the average person, they care about their donors, the only way to fire a ones of these jerk offs is to quit funding them. Is that "leisure imagination"? Although your made up terms are interesting they arent logical. Please educate yourself brother. If everyone in this country were as ignorant as you are the USA would be a police state. You shouldnt be upset at people for trying to uphold the constitution. FYI **** Cheney owns Haliburton. This is a military contracter who gets paid to blow stuff up and clean it up afterwards. Cheney was VP to Bush, Haliburton has made around $20 Billion or so DIRECTLY from us invading iraq. So if you think people in govt dont benefit from this stuff your simply not paying attention
The scary thing about these terrorists, is they actually think they are doing good. They think they are pleasing their god. This is how pervasive brainwashing can be. We are all brainwashed to a certain extent, so I think we as individuals can strive to do a better job trying to wade through the BS, so we don't do or believe things just because they are societal or cultural norms.
I see where you coming from but you have to wrap your head around it. I'm not talking about conspiracies here. I'm talking about real legislation passed by our government and now they are focusing on the 2nd amendment. Our liberties and rights are being taking away through legislation. It's a fact. Just look at the bills that are passed. There is no privacy anymore. People say who cares about wiretaps if you have nothing to hide. That is a crazy statement. It's not that you have something to hide. It's about privacy but I'm sure most citizens don't care with all their twitter/facebook accounts and reality tv. They want everyone to know what they are doing anyway, lol. The problem is if your phone is tapped and your talking about some radical book that they could qualify as terrorist reading. This sets up a red flag. Let's says your a journalist and reading the book for a story. What if your a student and it's for a paper. Yell, even citizens can let them government know if they suspect you of being a terrorist. I'll problem be put on the no-fly list for posting this. Hey just have a warrant before entering my house because I still have my 2nd amendment right. Oh, I forgot they can perform searches without warrant now too. I'm not saying that my example will happen on a daily, weekly or monthly basis but it can happen. That is the crazy part. Even crazier is that they right a bill to not give you a fair trial by your peers. You don't think that is crazy that some warped person in government put that in a bill. Also, there have already been plenty of people held in isolation (some US citizens) because of this law.
Thats a good point. The scariest enemy out there is the one is isnt afraid to die for their cause. Those kamakazee pilots scared us to death in WW2. I mean if you really believe that 72 virgins are waiting for you in heaven that would be crap, i would want about 6 whores that knew what they were doing.
Agreed, necessary first step. @Willis...I think you provide a nice middle ground b/t the two poles...the Patriot act is straight up scary, as are recent propositions to monitor the online activity of individuals. Everything is not a conspircay, at the same time there are a lot of people in politics that are up to no good, and our government has a far from squeeky clean past. And I think others have put similar quotes, and this isn't verbatim, but I believe Jefferson said something along the lines of this- one who would sacrifice individual liberties for increased security deserves neither. And as far as what am I going to do on the personal level...I'm going to live as best I can to the code I set for myself, but as much of an optimist that I am, I truly believe we are royally f**ked, therefore I am not having children.
I suspect you probably don't have many friends and you spend a lot of time with your own thoughts with no one to keep you in check. you have said nothing new to me or probably anyone on this board other than you are a bit of a whacky guy. Its ok to suspect something is not what it is on the surface.... but you're going to need facts that actually support what you're saying, not just coincidental surface connections.
whats even scary is that when push comes to shove.... its all based on worshiping something that could be thought of as imaginary.
we are not going to lose our guns... that point was made loud and clear over the last 2 weeks when the bill was turned away.
No, but I can't find .223 ammo anywhere in CT, and I may have to register high capacity magazines or risk a class d felony if I dont and get caught.
Aww poor baby sounds like i hurt your feelings. It will all be ok i promise. Personal attacks on me are just your ignorance gleaming through my computer screen.
I tried to start a 2nd American Revolution back in 1992 but failed miserably. Everybody was too happy that Clinton got elected to rebel with me. So I ended up joining a 1% Motorcycle club to distance myself from the establishment. (true story: Support your local 16s) but ended up in Prison. Then, I decided to help people less fortunate than me. I was a Drug/Alcohol counselor for 10 years. (What a hypocrite I am, being a Jack Daniels guy and all). The reason I asked the questions was not to complain. If I had solutions I would share with all. I was hoping the younger guys (more in touch with today's world than I) would be thinking about how to fix this mess than just complaining about it.
actually your response is a classic "I think Im smart, but he said something rude to me, but since i think Im smart Im going to reply in condescending manner to show everyone how smart I am" sign of being insulted in a way that it actually hurts you. lol.
Don't worry about that, but I'm of the mindset that one can always have more. You're starting to strike me as a guy who has an answer to everything, but not being able to obtain ammunition is a problem, regardless of how much you have. And the amount being bought by the government is ridiculuous.
I only say that because I figured everyone who has the guns would have bought the ammo to go with it. thats been my situation. But honestly, imagine if we had to duke it out with our govt.... no amount of ammo would be enough. but at the same time, its vitally important, in my opinion, for the citizens to be armed. It sends the right message about america and our way of life.
innocent until proven guilty. the government was proven guilty of assassinating king. By questioning the courts decision arent YOU a conspiracy theorist?
our constitution is now toilet paper. every amendment based freedom in the bill of rights has been revoked. someone please provide evidence of one that has not.
^this is worth a watch. 2 minutes long, regardless of you believe it or not.
