Hi All, we typically ride when its clean to semi-clean conditions, I see the forecast is for large surf overhead surf on the way however... bumpy choppy conditions, are these conditions rideable or typically stormy and messy?
Hey chicas...it depends on how big the swell is and how hard the wind is blowing on the day your thinking about riding. For Monday, TWC (The Weather Channel) is expecting E winds at 11mph. I would think that would make the waves a bit mushy, but not too messed up. Possibly a lot of closeouts, but some lines occasionally. I would go however just to get in the water again. God only knows when we may have another swell...which may be a long time just like this flat spell. All in all, check the cams, and just go with what your eyes tell you. Hopefully see you in the water.
bumpy/choppy is somewhat of a broad term, but to get a better understanding of how rideable this will be, you need to understand how the different wind directions/speed behave at the spots your ride. In general the stronger the onshore or sideshore winds are, the less rideable and organized it will be. And, especially in the winter time, when we are much more picky to put on all the rubber (rideability being another relative term of course).
