Hey Chicharronne and the man, Sorry to hear aboot your parents ailments. See, we have these catastrophes, it causes wide spread hoopla, people act concerned, then people lose interest, and then no one cares. They see 1000 BP ads per day and buy into the clean-up message and assume everything is A-ok again. Didn't something happen in the gulf the other day.......sorry didn't catch the details.......oil rig....fire.....? Ahh, I'm not perfect either and am guilty of inactivity, but people need to get informed, get involved and stay involved.
No problem here on east coast, but after my first year surfing, I found that my eyes burned for a day or so. Started wearing sea specs this past year and haven't had a problem since. Even on cloudy days. Maybe you have a combination of things burning your already irritated eyes. Did you see an ophthalmologist to be sure you don't have some problem that the sun, wind and water are exacerbating? Also, did you check the websites to see if your beach has elevated entero bacteria?
this, http://www.nola.com/traffic/index.ssf/2013/07/drilling_rig_in_gulf_of_mexico.html said no oil spilled. who can tell with all the "dispersant" already in there. but a ton of methane was released. DRILL HERE! DRILL NOW!
For the arm pits...it could be your deodorant. As for the eye problem...close them when you duck dive? All jokes aside you could just be dehydrated.
