Okay, I don't want to start a complaining thread, but I'm getting kind of stir crazy so far this fall/winter. Getting a ridable day down here about once every 1-2 weeks. I have a pretty heavy workload for the next couple months even though its the "off season" for my line of work. No time to travel in the near future, so Im stuck for a while, waiting for some waves to develop. My high performance shortboards are collecting dust, while only my fish and my sharpeyeve disco have gotten any action... And to make matters worse, I watched that damn Video on swellinfo about Puerto Rico and damnit, those waves looked SOOOOOOOO fun. Reminds me of a warm water San Diego, or a tinier Maui...... Getting Cabin Fever down here.... Need waves soon. Even CB got some pretty fun swell recently, while we got a donut.
I feel your pain. This is the worse year ever for Va. I surf 2 and a half times. there's a baby swell here today, but it's past my cold water tolerance,(yes I'm an old pooswah).
I would, but i can't find any steroids down here. I keep asking sketchy dudes to get me some "juice" and they keep bringing me moonshine. Damn dirty south.
You should move to New Jersey. Check the "Manasquan Going Off" Thread for validation. Remember "Going Off" is a relative term..... Man, you used to live in Sand Diego with Za Gaffer and now look at you. That's too bad, man. Well, at least you're further from the border, ya know. No hessians in South Carolina either. I was a hessian when I lived in Southern California. I even had KMET stickers and KLOS ones. I was pretty cool. I had a Californian bowl cut, too. I used to hang out at the local arcade and smoke cigarettes. As I said, I was pretty cool............
Welcome to the Southeast man. I've only been here since June and I feel your pain. We've been getting fun waves up here but I've only ridden my performance shortboard twice since I moved here. It's either my stubby little quad or a log for most days. At least there have been some waves but man these swells have been few and far between.
