Well dude, that's my point exactly. Tillerson is one of those picks that has me shaking my head. I can't see how anybody can possibly justify his selection. I'm sure that he's an excellent corporate executive, a brilliant person and an astute businessman. But the conflict is just too strong to ignore. Nevertheless, I'm still interested in seeing how this all plays out. I mean, it's never been done before, right? Nobody really knows. It could either be brilliant, or end up a catastrophe. Getcha popcorn...
Clearly we need more welfare recipients and minimum wage workers in high level cabinet positions...Nothing to back this up but I'd wager that all, or a majority of, cabinet members spanning both R and D presidencies were at least multi-millionaires. Who really eats a fvck?
dpSUP...I was asking kidde rocque his opinion, I'm fully aware of the 180 mil severance package. I'm amazed you think that means he's not involved still or won't work to protect the interests of his former colleagues.
That's a pessimistic assumption. I believe Trump chose him for his ability to negotiate. Time will tell how he uses his power, but i'm not going to rush to judgement and assume that he'll do bad things because he worked for an oil company for a very long time. I also don't think people who work for oil companies are by default bad people with a bad agenda. Sure, there are bad apples in any industry, but to demonize an entire industry just isn't fair and I believe it's being prejudice. No different than hating someone for the color of their skin. Like it or not oil makes the world go round. We as a nation have been dependent on oil for a long time, and that isn't going to change any time soon. Most of the power struggle in the middle east is over the oil. Who better to have in charge of our negotiations as someone who has been there and done that and was very successful at it? Don't get me wrong, it's not all about the oil, but it is an important factor when we're talking about what makes the world economy tick.
Ratings? I don't need no stinking ratings! HAHA Nah, I just want entertaining TV to watch. This is good stuff!
Don't sweat it bro. It would be difficult, even with a stacked Congress. And even if they pull it off, it will all go away after the next erection. Same as it ever was
They are two different people, and there is no way to tell what will happen next based on what Cheney has done in the past. I understand yours and others skepticism, but before we judge someone, I feel it's best to watch their actions and judge them based on that, and not what our fear tells us to judge. Never know, he might surprise you, me, and a lot of the nay sayers. This is uncharted territory.
and how many americans had to die, injured or maimed for life in Iraq for cheny and bush to wrestle control of their oil? worth it?
I personally don't really give too many fu*ks... I think they all deserve a chance and should be judged on the job they do, not their past My only point was that if he was appointed by the other side you'd being singing a much different song and it would be all about his ties to big oil. And dems saying "he cut ties to Exxon so he has no conflict" would get crushed.
Cheney and Bush?? We've been involved in the f@cking Middle East since the end of World War 2. BOTH political parties have blood on their hands dude. Get your head out of your azz. the POWERS THAT BE, are made up of the Elite of both parties, as Kidde has pointed out. You guys that pick one party's doctrine, be it Dem or Republican, are SHEEPLE. You want someone to blame? Look in the mirror. Its us, the public. WE elect these idiots from both parties. WE allow them to control us. Election in, Election out, we elect the same f@ck wits be they one party or the other. If this is the best we can do then we are a nation of idiots. George Carlin. Google him. He will explain it to you.
How do you know what song or tune i'd be singing? I take every person on a case-by-case basis. I try my best to never prejudge anybody, in any aspect of life. I'm not perfect and have been guilty of it myself, but I try not to.
I don't give two f@cks who you voted for in the last election. I was merely pointing out that YOU called out Bush and Cheney's oil grab like it was the sole source of our oil dependency on the Middle East and the sole source of the bloodshed. Do they have blood on their hands? You bet. Are they the only ones with blood on their hands? Nope. The Middle East wasn't all sunshine and unicorns before Bush and Cheney. As a matter of fact, it wasn't all sunshine and unicorns before they began pumping oil either. THOUSANDS of years of turmoil It's a sh!thole and always will be.
agreed on ur points...just the whole WMD then hanging saddam thing just never sat well with me,but one of my resolutions is to tune out politics in the future..so last post on the subject for me
I didn't necessarily mean you directly (though I know that's what I said)... I just mean everyone that is saying "great pick" for every one of his picks without knowing what they are going to be. And those same people would say "horrible pick, they're just putting their rich buddies in these positions to help themselves" if they were picked by the other side. But I do agree. Everyone should get a chance to perform before they are judged, good or bad. I do like what I am seeing as far as jobs staying and moving to the US. So before he's even taken office I am seeing positives from the Ratings Machine DJT (aside from the ridiculous tweeting)
