Fair enough. Can't argue with that. Regarding the ratings machine, the news agencies / media should be thanking him for the ratings because they have endless material. Be it good or bad, people are interested in what's going in with our country more now than I can remember, and he is the engine behind it all.
I hear you ole Frosty. I try to tune it out as well but it's hard when it's being fed to you 24-7 in all forms of media including this here website. Yeah, I thought Bushy and Cheney took misinformation to a whole new level. Flash forward 15 years later and see what we have now. Boy was I wrong. Today's politicians and their media flunkies make W Bush and Cheney look like minor leaguers
I voted for GWB in 2000. At that point in time, Cheney and Rumsfeld were long running well respected career politicians with a wealth of experience going back several administrations.Neither had any skeletons in their closets, and passed their confirmations with flying colors. I supported the war in Afghanistan after they refused to hand over those responsible for 9/11. However, I did NOT support the war in Iraq. That being said, I hope that your statement is not an attempt to pigeonhole me as some type of blind Reich wing supporter. I watched as Colin Powell gave his speech about WMD's in Iraq, and that yellowcake in Africa BS. I had a feeling at that moment that the Intel was cooked, but gave the administration the benefit of the doubt, knowing that the world would find out in short time if the story was true or false. (Hint: it was false.) That's when the wheels fell off, kiddos. The Bush regime lost credibility with our country, as well as the world. Don't forget, the Dems were conned as well because most of them voted *for* the war, including Hillary. It was because of the sheer arrogance of the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld triumvirate that caused me to vote for Kerry in 2004, and subsequently Obama in 2008. Think about that for a minute...It took the catastrophe of Bush to make moderates vote for an inexperienced black community organizer. Just as it took the racist social policies and dishonest MSM for middle America to vote for a petulant, immature orange sociopath. The whole "No Blood For Oil" rallying cry by the left? Give me a focking break dude. Did you ever see the oil? Did prices ever go down? As a matter of fact, they went UP, a lot. Remember? But, let's face facts: GWB went into Iraq for 2 purposes: 1) Bush had been looking for a reason to invade Iraq before 9/11. Saddam attempted to have his daddy assassinated. 2) Neo-cons firmly believe that war creates jobs, which create a strong economy. Libs would rather send drones, or fire an ICBM up a camel's butt because war is generally distasteful to them. And I'm cool with that. Just remember Frosty: Dems nor Repubs give a flying fvck through a rolling donut for you. They create laws and policies that help them get re-elected, and pay off donors and supporters Nothing more. And I would appreciate it if you cease from attempting to lump me on any side of the aisle in the future.
Not only Saddam, there was also Gaddalfi and Mubarak that maintained some semblance of control in the region. As ****ty as Saudi Arabia is, their fall would be devastating in the region and world. They are the last real regional counter balance against Iran.
Perhaps. And that is the reason we should NOT have left as early as that Obumsmeller pulled us out. We were not done.
Bingo. Take a look at the names there, gents. Each one of these leaders, along with Assad of Syria, are basically "secular" and run their countries with an iron fist. When we remove secular Middle East despots and attempt to prop up Western style democracies in their place, it only creates a huge vacuum which is inevitably filled by fundamentalist wack jobs which seethe for revenge against their Western oppressors. When given a taste of "freedom", they instead are drawn towards violence. Words, other than the Koran, mean nothing to them. The punch in the mouth is the only thing they understand and respect. It has been this way for thousands of years. What I don't understand is how our politicians could be so stupid and ignorant to constantly overlook this. I think it you ask the average American, 99% will tell you that we should just get out of there and leave them alone.
+100^^^^^^^^^^^ nail on the head...let sleeping dogs lie and let barking dogs bark..shoot the ones that bite...
That is what we said when Nazi Germany was killing off the jewish population. 6 million deaths later we were horrified. Also, how long before they start their fighting here. I am with (regrettably) that idiot Trump on this one: Keep them out--all of them, except and accept none.
Eh, not exactly what he's saying. He's saying to do strong vetting to make sure we know who they are and if they are a potential danger to our country based their findings. Those that don't appear to be of danger can come in. Otherwise, I agree.
NYC will then soon be like the Middle East. I have no problem nuking Tehran, Islamabad, and Syria. Problem over.
