Well, that period of isolationism certainly creates a situation that led to the extermination of Jews. But it's kind of comparing apples and oranges because the Jews had no homeland.

In the Middle East, despots are certainly oppressing and killing ethnic minorities, but that country is their ethnic homeland. The scenario and politics are clearly different although still genocidal in nature.

Should we, as a Western outlier, be responsible for inserting ourselves as a beacon for human rights?I

Or should stronger and wealthier Middle East countries (Saudi, for example) step in and restore local order?

And Barry, NYC is the last place you should worry about a Muslim takeover. When was the last time you were in Michigan?

 

Should we be a beacon of human rights?? Absolutely yes. There is no greater honor.
And yes, Michigan has a lot of muslims, but so does NYC, and that is where most go first, and "where the money is". Keep them out of there, and Michigan. Importantly, it is their religion that is the problem--not their location.
