My buddies and I are going on a trip to California and were staying in Pacific beach, across the street from the beach. None of us are 21, so therefore we can't rent a car. We want to rent a car so we could surf different spots. So my question is, are there any alternatives for ways to get transportation which we could fit our boards into and stuff?
I've got no good ideas about how to get around, but you're really going to want to get out of PB. Ive stayed there a bunch of times, and PB in the summer is full of lame mushy clousout waves with really good spots just a few miles N and S.
Probably with a bunch of people too? Last year we stayed in San Clemente but we had a car. My friend didn't really think this one through.
why can't you rent a car? Call some local places there. I'm sure if the price is right, you will be able to get a car.
You're not allowed to rent a car unless you're 21. You might have to be older than that now, from what I'm hearing.
Call some local small rental car companies. They will rent to you. AVIS, BUDGET and Hertz won't but a small local place will if you have a credit card and the price is right. You will pay more but you will get the car. If that doesn't work, get some soft racks and cab it.
If you don't care what's you driving as long as you get there ! try rent a wreck depending on location they do under age rentals with a credit card http://www.rentawreck.com/info.htm#age
I know man. i think hes expecting his baby. but although he writes may too much than necessary he does come useful for this type of ****. he would have wrote a full page detailing every single mode of transportation and where henryk should go
Thanks for the help. We found this place called zipcar, they rent to college students at a decent price.
haha. Yeah, you can bring a 6.0 shortboard on the busses, but they are useless. You need 3 connections to get from PB to OB which is about 2 miles apart. Car is a must. Short and Sweet =)
yeesh, you're gonna be better off renting a 9' footer and paddling out at Tourmaline. P.S.----Don't even attempt to paddle out at PB Point. Not only will you probably get rocked, but it's probably the mushiest point wave on the planet. I honestly don't know what all the agro fronting is all about. But hey, Skip Frye is still a legend.
