camping folly beach area

    Anyone know of any campgrounds other than james island county park or any places to camp near folly? thanks.

    Check out hwy 17. there are a few campgrounds out there, but i've never checked prices. I would be a 35 min drive though. JICP is only 15. Otherwise you're probably hosed.

    wouldn't mind staying at jicp but they "strictly prohibit alcohol" hah., i'm going with a few buddies and we won't be crazy or anything, just don't wanna get kicked out for drinking a couple beers. kinda ridiculous.

    anyone know how strict they are about this?

    If you have a boat you can go out to Morris Island right next to Folly, that would be your best bet for no holds barred camping. Clean up your site though, it got trashed on the Fourth of July.

    As long as your not noisey and keep it in a cup or kooies then you should be fine
