Hi guys, i can pop up on a longboard fine because i can use my feet, but when i use a shortboard, i cant pop up because i cant use my feet. What should i do??? I can get to my knees then stand up, but for some reason, i just cant make the 1 motion from laying down to standing up. i've watched every video on youtube, and i still cant do it. I want to give up surfing because of this. can some
Sounds like you are a student of the Gruvi School of "Boardriding" (using the term very loosely). You need to practice on dry land and in the water, and practice a lot. That movement is something you want to have muscle memory for so it will become second nature. Just keep practicing and it will click. Having feet helps too....
