There are a bunch of fun places. Nauset Light and Coast Guard are right outside Orleans and are decent places to surf. Further up Wellfleet is great with a bunch of surfable beaches. If you go to the BeachComber in Welfleet you are bound to find a good sandbar and some place to eat and drink. You could always stop in the Pump House in Orleans and talk to those guys or give them a call. I would say stay in Welfleet there is a bunch of stuff to do there. Chatham is real nice as well.

Nice. If you get a chance you should check out the kettle ponds and do a kayak tour through some of the water ways. In chatham the squire can be a fun place to grab a beer and the impudent oyster has good food. Also, nauset light is literally right down the road from coast guard and you can park right at the beach instead of potentially taking a shuttle and there tend to be more surfers there..safety in numbers.

i'm from nj and i'm actually in cape cod now. surf is pretty flat right now, but i've gotten it good here in the past. check beaches in wellfleet, marconi and nausset. if you have an suv, go to race pt. ranger station near provincetown to get an orv permit. $50/week let's you drive through the dunes and up/down the beach. it's pretty awesome.

I was up there in early July and spent some time at Coast Guard and Nauset Light in Eastham. It was small but fun. Beautiful stretch of National Seashore. If you walk south from the Coast Guard Station about 1/2 mile to the end of Nauset Spit you'll find some sandbars working but LOTS of seals. Like 25 when I was there (by myself). You can park right at the small parking lot at the Coast Guard Station if you DP it - parking rules and shuttles don't start until 8:30 am.
