i know there are people on here with nice car speakers. well my question is i have a stock sub woofer in my car and its nice. but i was wondering if i get a amp would it make the sound and bass better? also should i get another sub with it as well. and i drive a 2002 ford explorer eddie baurer edition.
I recently got a system put in. My question is, how do you have a sub without an amp? An amp will harness the full power of the sub.. it's basically a necessity. So yes, you should get one. Crank that **** on your way to the beach haha
dont ask me how i hae a sub with out an amp it came with the car when we bought it new. so i will just buy a amp.
If you already have a factory sub-woofer, i can guarantee you there is also an amp. Its just that the amp is built into the stereo, and is hidden from plain sight... I think the aftermarket sub/amp combo's are set up differently than a stock system. just go to a place that does that kinda work and tell them what you want, the install fees are usually a very low percentage of the price of the new amp/sub/whatever.
Also... in answer to your other question, a new amp would probably make the existing woofer sound worse. For an sub/amp to sound really good they need to compliment each other in terms of power/ohms/ or whatever. Using a higher power amp with the same factory sub would probably just blow it out, or make it sound distorted.
ok. so what i concluded with my deicision was that im gonna go somewhere and get a new sub and take the old out and put the new one where the old one was and get a amp.
