Anytime man, it'll all work out. DOn't worry about the herb yet, enjoy it. Remember, this is an opportunity. You guys don't have kids yet, so that's another thing to not have to worry about.
I've found my best luck on Indeed.com for job searches. Use this: http://www.gnc.com/detox-formulas/726082.html?productId=117106036 gives you about 3 hours of clean pee. I have passed 3 piss test in 3 different casinos with this shit. I used the exact one in the link and followed the directions to a T.
This for sure... When you have kids involved it becomes way more stressful. For now, like SS said, use the time for things you want/need to accomplish while looking for a new opportunity I know it's easier said than done, but try not to stress. The best things always seem to happen when you are not pressing. Call people you have helped and let them know you're looking.
Good luck on the search man. Sounds like this was inevitable based on the thread. With the economy doing well, hopefully you won’t be on Unemployment too long (although I like SS’s theory on taking some time to enjoy). But, if I recall you are a home owner. Last thing you want is CC debt piling up. Cut cost in the interim and put out as many applications as you can. Treat interviewing like a part time job and chill/surf hard until you land something...be well!
That really sucks man! About 20 years ago, my wife and I (just married) moved back inland from the coast. I landed a cushy inside sales job and everything was going great. I had been there about 2 years, and then BAM, 9/11 happened. I was told I could keep a job but would have take a big demotion in title and pay. The owner/president of the company totally over-reacted thinking the world was coming to an end. I told them to fudge off and left immediately (looking back wrong decision as you well know our economy went in the tank for a couple years) The worst part (and best part) of this is we had just moved in with my mom, who had an addition added on when my grandma passed away, to save up money for a down payment on a house. Well, it took me a solid year to find full time employment but to make a little money while I was looking I worked with special needs kids part time. Totally changed my life for the positive and helped bring me back to the coast. I now own a small group home for individuals with special needs and I get to surf basically whenever I want. My point is....everything happens for a reason and believe something good will come from it. I know it seems really crappy now but put your energy towards something you're passionate about or towards helping others and you'll be amazed what will come from it. I guess this swell is coming at the right time. Go surf your brains out! And fu<k them!!
Right on dude. We’re still renting this house though, new lease coming on a month I believe. Not sure how this will affect that.
Will do Dosxx, already started applying online to some jobs. My Sister In-law has a remote sales position working 11-5 M-F making decent money. Not as much as I was making but not a huge drop in pay considering the cake hours. I sent my resume to them and hope to hear from them soon. This would be ideal if it works out. Plus I could do some freelance work to bridge the gap. We’ll see what happens. I’m happy to not have to report to those assholes anymore, so that’s the good part so far.
Havnt checked this thread in awhile. Sorry to hear DP. But man. Don't let it stress you. I know its hard. But as long as your not a bum, you'll find another job and looking back you'll be happy things happened the way they did. Alot of the bad times in my life, although bad, i wouldn't change. Always leads to somthing good. Enjoy the unemployment. Don't slouch, but enjoy the time off. And as silly as it sounds. You could always wait tables/bar tend. I know i know. Not exactly a career you'd want. But if things get tight, you can make a good amount of cash to keep your head above water until you figure things out. My point is, there's always options. There is no "I'm done". It might be less than glamorous. But you'll make it through. Same goes to you Mr. B. Although you got hands on skills. So you have a few more options. Things will work out in the end for both of you
Good looking out Bassmon2, your words are appreciated. I’ll keep the bartender thing in mind if it comes to that. I asked a bar back what he made and he said $300-600 a night, and he’s just the bar back, he said the bartender can make double or triple that. This is a popular bar in downtown.
Yeah man. Like i said its not glamorous. But it's somthing easy to fall back on if you need the money and aren't getting anything in your career. Plus it gives you ample time to surf!
Oh man. The handwriting was on the wall, but still, what a blow. And with all the good Swell coming this coming week, maybe take the week off, have some fun, get your head straight and then go after a better gig. It’s their loss. Your wife I bet is in your corner and that’s worth more than gold. I know you will land a good job.
Yeah I felt it coming ever since new management came in with their agenda. It’s too bad, I had a lot invested with the company and knew what needed to happen to fix the issues we faced but nobody wanted to hear the truth. One of my flaws is speaking the unpopular truth and in the end I lost the battle. But I will win the war by finding a better company and will be happier in the end while they flounder and drive that company into the ground, which shouldn’t take long given the recent epic failures as a result of their shitty policies. I’m ready for some groundswell, I couldn’t have picked a better time to be unemployed lol I’m already getting responses from companies. Going on an interview tomorrow. Not too excited about this one but it could be a short term fix till I find what I really want to do. My wife has been great, she’s definitely in my corner and you are right, it is worth more than gold.
