Go there KNOWING they need YOU. Experience and work ethic combined in someone today? Worth their weight in gold
Dude, just walk in and punch the first person you see. That'll give you 'Street Cred'. Wait, are you going to Prison or a job interview?
Havent been on this thread in a while. Sucks. I was let go from what i thought was my dream job 10yrs ago. Thought i was a total loser. Watching wife go to work, kid to school while the dog and i stared at each other all day. Drank heavily for 2 weeks then stopped feeling sorry for myself. Took a bs job to get some income. It led to the one i have now. Looking back it ended up working out. Only got one unemployment check! In my youth i lived for a year handicapping horses! Where there is the will there is a way. From your posts i always thought you were good dude so i have faith things will work out.
First interview was at a flooring company for a scheduling coordinator. It went well but I have no experience doing that. Seemed like that may be OK as long as I can do the job, I will have a 2nd interview next week and they will be comparing me to 2-3 others. Hours are ok, 7:30-4:30 M-F no weekends. Pay isn’t that great 30-38k, maybe a little more. Then I went to a 2nd interview right after that one with Harley Davidson, as a salesman. That went well but I don’t have my motorcycle endorsement to ride so they will be pushing me to get that if I take the job. Hours kinda suck since it’s retail sales. There will be nights and weekends involved with rotating days off. Starting pay is low but after 2-3 months it goes to 100% commission and he said 60-100k is realistic. They will call me in a few days to come back in probably.
All i got from this was 4-5 hours of surf every morning before the store opens @ 11AM. Go with the harley, give us your discount code
Thanks Smitty, I appreciate the kind words. I thought about drinking heavily but after last weekend’s binge I put myself on restriction. I’m probably gonna have a couple tonight though, but only a couple.
Well, not exactly, the day starts at 8, and ends at 7, but can end up staying late some nights till 8-9-10 if trying to close a deal with a customer who comes in at closing time and wants to buy. I’m not use to 11-12hr days!
Welcome to my life. When im on call (like i am this week) it's fairly common for me to work from 7am til 12-1 am. At least you'll be inside. So you know.... it could be worse hahaha.
Yep, on the days I work both jobs I'm at work at 7:30 AM and sometimes don't get done unti midnight. It sucks but I've been with the outfit for so long at my day job that I can surf pretty much anytime I want.
I don't know about you CC, but i really don't mind those looong days. If my day is that long it's because there's work to do meaning I'm constantly moving and grooving. I don't get tired or worn out because my mind is focused on work. It's the normal length days when i don't have much to di that kills me. They just drag. So if you took that job DP, I'd imagine it'd be worth the extra hours. You'd be making money and be working. Sitting idle is the worst
Just got caught up on this thread, sorry to hear about the turn of events DP, that really sucks. The Harley job sounds cool. My nephew was stuck for a while and got a salesman's job at AT@ T and he's actually killing it, making way more than me. If all else fails, two words, cannabis industry. Even a little side hustle DP....
The phones and all the bells and whistles that come with it. I know he makes just over 6 figures, believe it or not, and has been with them maybe 10 years? He might be a manager by now or some shit, not sure
