Anyone else think it's weird that the two best female surfers are both kinda "butchy"?
Even their WSL photos where they're supposed to look sexy, they both just look awkward.
Zero sex appeal for both of them.
Carissa is gunna balloon like Charles Barkley after she stops competing. Her face is already looking bloated. I expect Tyler to come out of the closet any day now.

By that standard all of the guys who don't look like Julian Wilson or Raoni Monteiro must be gay.

Carrisa just isn't pretty. I wouldn't call her butch. But who cares she rips and seems to have a good attitude.

Tyler on the other hand totally looks butch. She looks like the female mma fighters who clearly have done steroids. Except not as jacked

Anyone else think it's weird that in 2017 you are discussing the hetero sex appeal of the top two female surfers in the world, rather than their surfing?
Even their WSL pages are focussed primarily on their surfing, rather than their looks.
Zero self awareness about sexism in your post.

What?? Are you a "girlie man"?
We like good looking girls and we will always see girls first for their looks, then, maybe, just maybe, we will talk talent. But even that will be reduced to skills in bed!!
WSL?? Really?? You think we go by what the idiots at WSL do?? Grow up. They are morons.
Whatever you do, do not go view the Scantily Clad thread--you might be "offended".

I really need to rant on something, and I'm sorry that it's probably gonna be long.

I don't really care if these girls are attractive or not, when it comes to their surfing ability. People who are good at their craft, are good at their craft, no matter what it is. Save for maybe modeling, where you have to look good and are being judged on your looks.

One thing that irritates me is the fact that there are accusations of sexism when a guy says a girl is hot or "I wanna bang the hell out of her!". My friend posts on a forum with a bunch of weirdos, where many seem to have a problem with men approaching a woman just because they find them attractive. You don't have to get to know someone to ask them out, you ask them out to get to know them, so what's the problem with approaching someone you don't yet know, and based on being physically attracted to them? One jerk off on there, who talks about how many dates he goes on and has implied that he's had sex with many women and had threesomes, etc, said that he doesn't even have asking out a woman in mind until he's talked to her. And that he typically compliments them on things like their band T-shirt, and not their looks. Yet, if he's approaching a woman to talk to, he must be attracted to her initially, right? He says that women don't like being wanted for their body, so we should use other methods of complimenting them. So I'm supposed to find a disingenuous reason to approach a woman, like by complimenting her on her T-shirt of whatever (most likely) lame band that she's got on? Like Mumford And Sons or Muse or some ****? I gotta pretend to be a fan of those bands, in order to make up some dumb reason to ask her out? I have to make up another reason to approach a woman or find some disingenuous reason, that's not her looks or physical beauty?

And then some other dumbass, claims she's in an open relationship, yet she is insulted by men approaching her when she's out and about.

Some of these accusations to sexism are as asinine as the complete misnomer that too many idiots make, about how women don't really like sex as much as men do. Which is ****ing false.

    Rant over.

IMO Paying someone a compliment right off the bat comes off creepy and disengenous. Better to pretend they aren't as hot as they are, almost disinterested in them but interested enough to have conversation, never show your hand, and let them show "buying signals" and then set the hook with a nonchalant invite to something social. She'll make it pretty obvious if she's interested at that point. If she responds positive in any way, she's giving you a chance, don't f it up lol

You're spending too much time on the wrong forums.

If you guys are worried about disparities between the sexes in the surf world, why aren't you upset that women's events are held on the trash days that they won't run the men's events on? The best surfing is done on the best waves. You don't see Slater toning the waves down at his wave pool when a wahine paddles in do you? This happens at every WSL event. The only time the ladies get the goods is when the event has pumping waves the whole time.

I usually haven't approached many of the women I've approached by starting off with a compliment on how hot they are. I do want them to know I'm interested, if I am though. I don't ever want them to think that I just wanna be friends only, if I want more than that. And I never accept or agree to being friends only with women I want as more than friends. That's for guys who enjoy blue balls and wasting their time orbiting a woman in hopes that they'll change their minds. I was definitely guilty of doing that in my teens and maybe once or twice in my 20's.
That's a forum that my friend goes on, but of course I had to take a look and see this weird **** myself. Wasn't worth the couple percent drained from my battery, that it took to read it, that's for sure.

I hear ya, do what works for you. I've found timing is everything so it's more to do with when you say things. Complimenting them right when you walk up, usually bad, not always, but usually. Finding a smooth way to slip a compliment in after breaking the ice, better option. Just my opinion, worked for me pretty well. Walking up and saying hi beautiful or nice ass or w/e isn't what I would consider a good move, but if someone can pull it off and it work, good on them. Also, know your audience, some girls you can say certain things to and others you would never say that same thing to because the reaction would probably be different, so there's that. I've been married for 5 years on the 20th so none of that matters to me but that's how I thought when I was single. I practice my pickup lines on her still, I was much more slick back then.

Wow. A lot going on here. Female athletes are just that, Athletes. Not models. Look at most female sports. Surfing is lucky for the handful of hotties we do get.
