So after all the research comments etc... I finally pulled the trigger and got a Carver Greenroom with the C7 trucks. I have not been on a skateboard since I was a kid and the equipment back then was very suspect plus I was never really great on them. So after a couple of little "setbacks" in the driveway I decided to give it a very short go on the street. This is my first attempt at it. Keep in mind that this is my first go at it... LOL. Grabbed some hockey gear and my sons skateboard helmet. I am moving like old people farq on it but hey you gotta start somewhere!!

OH BTW if any middle aged guys are wondering whether to pull the trigger on doing this? DO IT! Once you get the rhythm down on pumping with this board it will click. Just need to build up slow and DONT LEAN BACK!!LOL. Ask me how I know.... ha ha ha.

Well done! That's gonna be your new obsession for sure. I know mine is. Rarely ever take my LB out these days, although sometimes dancing is just way fun. If you've never done that - try it out.
Good call on the helmet btw, idgaf what anybody says - sometimes you just don't know. Im still getting migraine-like head aches behind my left eye and in the left temple from what I'm suspecting to be a mild concussion three weeks ago. It sucks and while laying down delirious on the ground, thinking maybe it's not so bad since I'm not vomiting although phasing in and out of nausea -believe me I wished I had a helmet on. Hit the head just above the ear hard enough to get a back eye, go figure.
Lose the elbow pads tho, hockey is a girl sport :D jk dude! Sweet ride!

Note to self - ground is hard.

Wrist guards. Lookin' good buoyz, but wrist guards.

My friend (orthopod) says it's the most common injury they see from adult skaters. The caveat is that it's a much worse injury for an adult vis a vis kids 'cause apparently the healing process rarely goes well for a broken wrist (in adults). Nerve damage, small bones fractured...tough to put Humpty back together again when it comer to wrist breakages.

Can really be a harsh, limited existence post-broken wrist. And, yah, T, a helmet = common sense medicale advise.

    Anyways, good vids.

I think all skaters eventually make one of those, then we moved on to building a 6' Quarter Pipe, that thing was crazy fun but dangerous in the neighborhood haha
