Clemmy, you character, you. Exclusive dry condition surf skating is so beta bro! No parking decks here aside from a drive (not gonna do it for that) and I go out for pave ripping sessions as often as some of you pull smoke breaks. I'm going out no matter what. I'm just rifling through bearing sets as a result.

Haven't checked my wheels for heat. When I come in after a pave sesh I'm literally covered in sweat even in these single digit nights, so the one thing I'm attending to is getting out of sweat-soaked clothes. Honestly though, I'm pushing the limits of these things from wheels to decks so if I'm not seeing heavy wear then the products are A-OK. And I'm on all types of terrain, even wooden decks here on the coast if a parking lot, boardwalk or establishment has one, as well as brick, cobblestone, etc. These things are heavy duty brah.

Nice!!!! Glad you picked one up after our talk. Was wondering if you would! How much and what condition? The Knox is a sick first stick.

I concur on that last statement, at least for times we can't be out there. Closest damn thing otherwise.

Where you at breh? Tough for us to tell you if we can pull a break meet up to go out for a rip without knowing that. And it's not like we are all sitting in the same hood either.

You put the Carver trucks on an 8" wide traditional deck? That can work, and my braddah out in SD who I stay with there threw on 62mm square-lip cruiser wheels and loosened trucks after seeing what my sticks could do. If I'm you, I'd pick up a cheaper old school single-kick that's 31+ and 9-10" wide with both wide nose and tail. You'll be very pleased with the change and you can get those anywhere on like for a few dozen bucks tops. Some shops will have them for $20.

Bi-stater, I'm stoked that anyone gets on these things because I know they're instantly scoring and super stoked at any hour of the day or night. Have YOU stepped on one yet Bro Namath?

Spicoli!!!! Wow, dude. I tried to PM you and my message got REJECTED because you've exceeded your PM capacity, Mr. Popularity. Here's what I intended to send you, now for all the world to see:

    "Hey brother,

There's a ton of information in the current thread regarding Carvers. Too much for me to sift through. I'm going to keep an eye on craigslist to see what becomes available. In your opinion, what should I be looking for as a first stick? I essentially have no experience on a skateboard so keep that in mind!

I live on a paved private road in the woods with a nice, long gradual hill. I'm thinking it would be a blast to shred it up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    God speed."

Concrete surfing does not equal surfing. Concrete surfing equals surf training....

Don't get me wrong, I would love nothing more than a nearby snake run to carve the sh*t out of. But why would I want to use a carver as opposed to a normal skateboard?

Every video I have seen of Carvers is painful to watch. I've never seen anyone pick up much speed or carve up some vert... so hdbarellkilla will probably get his coveted sponsorship.

I'd like to supplant my stoke. I really would. But until I see someone looking like they are having fun on a Carver, I just don't think I could pull the trigger.

Maybe Rcarter could weigh on this one, as he actually does shred tranny. That or someone could post up some Carver footy and make me eat my words. Clemson's photos of a parking lot aren't really good PR for the Carver Clown Crew.

Check out the thread title. Carver quiver (Or other surf trainers). Thanks for making the point again. The idea that was being expressed is that a carver is the closest possible thing to surfing. The movements really translate nearly perfectly to surfing. You don't have to believe it or even try it for that matter. Your hate and disdain has been noted and someone is keeping track for HOTY '14. Keep watching youtube though, it helps in real life.

Haha! It's so obvious that they're wearing some type of harness under their shirts. Focus on their shoulders...looks a bit suspicious!

I think carvers are fun. I do like vert and pools but I have some carvers, beer getters, and other odd fun little/long boards. Use the equipment that fits the terrain or your style. Just as in surfing ride everything and have more fun.

Carvers are great for bowl skating. I have the 42" (flowmaster) model and ride it in parks all the time. But the point is not to do crazy airs or complicated lip tricks or whatever. It's different from a standard skateboard. Carvers are heavy. They're built for cruising, not shredding. The point is to pump for speed and work the bowl.

Btw I've been digging 65mm 92a Noskoolz as a park wheel on my Carvers. Like them way better than the stock wheels for vert.

I have been working on losing weight for surfing for several months and working on cardio that may help for surfing now that iam much older...now use a longboard skateboard, my sons old school small Alva skateboard, bought a total gym to mimic the swimming stroke and works great...and just bought a pair of rollerblades, that's right a pair of rollerblades. I may be the only one out their using these things, at least they look like hockey skates...more manly looking then the old style buckles. Used to do it back in the 90's when it was the fad...did it back then to play street hockey and prepare me for winter skating. I joked with my wife...I tell her I will only go out at night...don't want people to see me with these things...to be honest, I don't give a crap what others think...actually enjoy it.

Slash, I use to skate back in the day and was pretty good at one point and nearly got sponsored, gave it up when I picked up surfing and never looked back. Years later I regretted giving it up all together and then fell in love with the idea of getting a Carver as a surf trainer.

I got my 31" Taylor Knox Pro Model back in Dec. and it has been really fun getting back on a board. Now it's not the same as my old Powell, Birdhouse, Black Label, Blind, or Element skateboards, but it's not suppose to be. I might pick one of those up again at some point to do some grinds, kick flips, 360 flips, varial flips, pop shovets, etc. but i'm more interested in being a better surfer, so that's what the Carver is helping me do.

Those other boards just don't do that unfortunately. Sure they give you board skills in general, but you can't pump and carve the same way as a carver with the C7 trucks. Give it a try, you'll be surprised how much fun it is, but not only that, but how much of a work out it is.

C7 bro. All the way. It's the surf truck. I only have the CX on my PP deck for pools since the C7 is mad squirrelly on la piscina.

Monstas look dope. I'm already set for that length in the quiver. Diamond tails baby. Just like on the wave. Carver needs a bat tail!!!

whoa, whoa, whoa! Stop the clock!

Have any of you tried the new CX.4's? I've been shredding my C7's for a couple years now and the CX.4's blew me away. I wouldnt say that one is surfier than the other. The Cx.4's have a tighter turning radius. Straight up. Much more aggressive, snappier turns. Where as, the C7 likes the turns a bit more drawn out in comparison.

I'm curious to hear what others have to say who have both...
