Recognize Morro Rock and Morro Bay. Been there many times. Nice sets of waves off Montana De Oro (I think that's where it was). You gong to Poly?

I recognize the second break...and, believe me, it's 20 times bigger than it looks (that's why those guys didn't paddle out)

    Wishing you the best.
My bother (1980), sister (1980), and I (1979) graduated from Poly. I went into the Navy shortly afterward.
I hardly recognize the campus now. So much construction has occurred over the years.
My wife and I used go camping quite a bit at Morro Bay State Park.

I'm thinking about joining the air force afterwards, would love to be a pilot, or at least know how to fly, and why not help out the country while I'm at it.

Becoming an AF pilot is a worthy goal. Don't know if they have AF ROTC at Poly. There was only Army ROTC when I was there. The other option is Officer Candidate School following graduation from college. Programs are very competitive, so keep the grades up and stay out of trouble. It seems like it's easier for a young guy to get into career-impacting trouble nowadays than when I was your age.

Extracurricular activities or a part time job where you can develop and demonstrate leadership will prove beneficial. Sports participation is good too. Don't know what your major is, but include some physical sciences (e.g., physics, astronomy, meteorology), higher level math, computer, and some electrical/electronic and mechanical courses. You don't have to be an engineer (...Not that there's anything wrong with that. My brother is an engineer....), but the AF and flying are very technical, and it's good to have a basic understanding of how things work and the principles involved.

Industrial Engineer, and yes, to my knowledge, they only have army rotc. To be honest, I am not looking into it that much just something that catches my interest a bit.

Ain't that the truth...especially if you like to post on Facebook or SwellInfo. Be careful, young man...and good luck. Keep the pix coming.
