lost rnf i was ganna get a ci pod but I ended up with a Lost round nose fish, it is perfect on the smaller days and can handel head high conditions, its 5'8 tall 2 1/2" thick and im 6'3 so if you get a pod or rnf def down size a bit, about 4 or 6 inches.
I have one very fun in crap or small waves, it keeps me off a longboard alot in the summer. My only complaint is I wish I had purchased the tri instead of the quad, but thats just my opinion. Worth the $ to milk most out of typical summer wind slop.
my cousin bought the trifin 6'0 pod, its sick. lots of volume in the nose and the wide point is pretty far forwards. im going to order wynn surfboards version of it but with a quad/tri fin setup
Fishcuit I have a 5'10" fishcuit. I like the board and the shape, but I think that CI does not glass their boards enough. It is super thin glass so you have to be very careful with the boards. I would have bought a different brand with similar shape but thicker glass If I had the chance. The board does fly across the summer mushburgers though.
CI does not do glassing in-house. They utilize multiple glassers, including Moonlight Glassing in SD (where they glass them so well they are almost bullet proof). It all depends on which glasser they used, if it's a custom you can request which glasser if your willing to wait and/or pay for it. If your going to buy one off the rack, take the time to see which glassing shop was used if that's your concern.
Go with the fishcuit if you want a board for a smaller day but still ridable in bigger days. The only thing is that when its dumpy it cant really handle it as well because it has no rocker.
I have a 6'0" pod quad fin setup and could not be happier. While it does have it's benefits in small waves it really isnt the fish shape that most people think. The nose is pretty pulled in for a fish and thus rides more like a regular shortboard than you would think. Wave catching is excellent and with a decent amount of rocker you can surf it vertically in the pocket of the wave. The quad setup is super fast but you have to compensate for that when trying to snap off the top in sizeable waves. I highly recommend this board and discourage the fishcuit/biscuit route. Those boards have zero rocker and for ocean city surf it causes problems, because the waves here have a tendency to jack up pretty quick.
I bought a 6-4 POD in Kauai last year. Love it. Will be paddling it out in Delaware for the Bill Swell... no problems at all.
i got the 5 10 pod tri fin. great board easy paddle. fast. not to heavy. not very loose though. fun for summer. it will handle up to around a few feet overhead. if it gets any bigger then when you drop in the board will just take down the line so fast and youll lose control
