How do you find yours? I've been reading about how you can set up RSS feeds that will automatically send you updates when there's a flight deal from your departure airport/city or going to your destination airport/city. Still haven't figured it all out yet, but it seems like a good way to capture as many deals as quickly as possible. Any other tips/trick about getting really cheap flights to Caribbean or CentroAmerica from US east coast (BWI and DC)? Is there a resource you use that has last minute or redeye flights? I know credit cards with travel points can be a huge resource too. Chase Preferred or CapitalOne Venture are the two I'm hearing are the best. Any tips on cards that work best for travel to Carib or CA, given the popular airlines that travel there? ...yup, giving up on hurricane season and trying to plan a Nica or PR trip.
I'm looking at Nica prices right now my buddy sent me who is a travel agent...$675 round trip is looking the like the best bet currently
Ouch, that's a bit steep. I'm seeing around $400 if you avoid weekend travel http://www.kayak.com/flights/BWI-MGA/2014-11-13/2014-11-17 Still looking for that ~$200 ticket... Any pilots here have some insider connects?
My gal n I are going on a honeymoon. She wants St. Lucia. looks fickle in terms of surf. She wants all inclusive. Where do you folks go if doing an all inclusive surf trip on a budget. I need some tasty waves y'all
I fly Jet Blue 99% of the time, prices are good usually, best to book in advance and not wait till last minute, and only $50 each way for a surfboard bag.
That's the cheapest fee I've seen for a board. On recent trips I've just headed for the biggest surf town on arrival, bought a board, went where the waves were good, then sold it on the way out. Only lost $80 last time I did this in Jaco and had a nice Lost for a 10 day CR trip. Booking in advance is a great way to save on airline tix. Been skunked a couple times, though, and can't handle that let down. I'd rather scramble to prepare when I can see something promising on the long range forecast.
I just read in a Forbes article the other day that flight tickets tend to be cheapest on Sundays, and for international flights buy 170 day out, if you can. 57 days out for domestic flights.
Dude! For some reason it's cheaper to fly out of BMI I changed the departure location to PHL and it was double the price WTF...
Yeah, I don't think you will find a cheaper board bag fee anywhere. The service has been great every time too. I have no complaints. You could probably still find a good deal waiting till last minute, but not a guarantee, but neither are good waves. We rolled the dice the last 3 trips to PR and booked way in advance, every time it worked out. We already booked our next trip in April. Sometimes just gotta have faith in the wave gods! HAHA
Agree with DPSUP on JB. If you're into airline miles & hotel points try this site for solid info: www.thepointsguy.com
I saw something about buying on line tickets. The guy said he went to a site, shopped, then went somewhere else to shop. when he returned , the price went up. everytime. He then shopped on one computer, went back on another, and got the same price. I got tickets for PNS for next week. when I shopped for them, I went to another tab while still on site. when I returned, I was sent back to the cart where I was informed of a $40 increase.
Depends where you are going. There are some airlines that don't charge for a bag and some are crazy. http://www.surfline.com/travel/boardbag_charges.cfm?id=15425
