MEDINA OUT COURTESY KERZY. KELLY STILL IN; RESUMES TMRW.
if kelly wins title race could get interesting.

well, obviously he didn't have what it took to win the comp, but i think he might still have a chance at the title.

my brazzo bump comment was more aimed at the apparent desire of the asp/wsl to crown a brazilian champ & the steps they've shown themselves willing to take to do that. i mean, does anyone truly believe that AiDS surfed bells better than nat last season? is medina *really* that much better a competitor than jordy, slater, or fanning? i think not. he's a good surfer, but not a world champ, IMO. but he's young, marketable, & does lots of airs.

yea, jjf's victory has an air of "well it's about time" to it...he doesn't seem to have the killer instinct the other top guys have. it's like he just goes out & surfs, to hell w/ strategy.

Nailed it. Especially the part about jjf. Lets face it, heat strategy matters a lot, and Kelly, Jordy, JJF and Medina are all at a surfing level where heat strategy can be the x-factor. Of those four, jjf doesn't seem to have his head in some heats...I've watched him give up priority several times this year when it made absolutely no sense to do so. He's an amazing surfer, and a below average competitor.

he's a ridiculous surfer, so casual. he & nat young are the 2 younger pros i enjoy watching surf most.

hopefully jjf is finding his competitive stride & can't wait to see him finally win a pipe masters this winter. this could be a real monkey wrench in the asp's plan to crown a brazzo champ this year.

did u people see the vid with slater n jj discussing the final, kelly was saying let me win,jjf like I might just do that to..............

    then it cuts off
u can clearly tell he was willing to let slater win to get the edge on medina and knock him out of the title race.that's real sportsmanship, the 2 best guys in the world working against the lone brazzo.

and for ihatelongboard dudes, did u hear the commentary people compare medina to andy irons?how did that make u feel?I think it was way out of line lol
