Those look like the old Wave Skater boards but made of regular boogie stuff instead of weird molded foam. I have one of the Wave Skater boards, it's fun enough, the pontoon thing and stiff foam make it very different from a bodyboard. Maybe next time there are waves I'll pull it down and ride it. What are you riding now, frost?
Right now a catch surf beater..finless 54 in...kinda putting it through the paces..see what I can do with it.. But i ordered one of those chimaera montrosa 54 in ...3 1/4 thick. The president of the company is one cool dude actually sold me a prototype board ... View attachment 15202 only one that exists with double channels plus the pontoon. Can't wait to get it in the mail.. Really nice guy yea think they used to be wave skaters but went through some patent tm thing and a redesign...
yea i have a bz board, daughter has that now though, wave rebel vector, lookin at getting a used empire if its in decent shape
Those boards are way to long to ride prone proper..not to mention over priced waste of money..3 graphite stringerz to top it off..you'll never scoop into one proper neither... buy used boogz...nah never that... Jawn Doeskis $0.02
I've got a 48" beater and I can't do anything with it. Too long to ride prone, 'cause I can't seem to get enough of my weight forward over the thick buoyant nose to take off. Too short to catch anything arm paddling, at least for me. It might work for some huge 300 lb. guy, idk.
beater shapes are unique not average wave catchers, one thing ive learned with them is you have to be in almost perfect position on the shoulder of the forming wave and take the wave really late
