You cats ever had a "Low Country Boil"? Pretty damn good man, pretty damn good. You should see these southern kooks trying to pick a local blue crab though. Gut-wrenching to watch.
My sister came down for the first time 2 weeks ago. The two things she "Had to try" were crawdads and shrimp and grits.... She enjoyed both, but there certainly is a stereotype about food down here. I took her to a mean BBQ place. Brew: If you are every down my way, you gotta swing by the smokehouse. They do some impressive work. Definitely my go to place for all things smoked or BBQ. Lots a beers on tap too.
So someone in another thread called you out earlier about making up stories. I was not quite sure if I believed them or not but after search Google images for 30 seconds I see you are pulling a Big $ T with the pics. I found "your" blue crab pic on the Chesapeake Bay web site http://www.chesapeakebay.net/fieldguide/critter/blue_crab. And can see by the properties you did too. Not a problem if using a pic for reference but you said they were caught in Port Royal sound. Also found the spinner shark on the Lost Boys blog from Texas. Although can tell by the pic properties you got it from somewhere else although I guess you never truley claimed this one was from SC but still kind of fishy (pun intended) http://lostboysblog.com/2012/08/12/sharkid/ So care to explain? Kind of casts a whole lot of doubt on the many many many tales you have told us on here.
Uhh, bro, of course I took them off google. I had to google broad creek oysters to get the actual photos....
I fixed the post for the shark and I know the oysters are SC since they came form the Hilton head site but what about the blues you say were caught in Port Royal Sound? Just wondering man, it seems like you were trying to claim all that as you caught it but I guess you were just using the pics for refernece for what could be brought to the table.
Okay, since you insist. You actually just wasted 10 minutes of my life by forcing me to email actual photos from my phone top upload on here. Jeez. And I am fully aware that EVERY image linked on this site shows the origin. All you have to do is click on the image, you don't need to waste your time googling. But since you insist... Here you go.... This is me, holding the first shark I ever caught on HHI. Here is blue crabs, in my sink. Straight from the dock in bluffton.... I must give credit here, as my friend got these clusters... But this is the aftermash... Yes, I actually ate them.... But like I said, if you guys think catching small sharks in shark infested water, and catching blue crabs in waterways in which there is an abundance, and wait for it.... eating oysters on the most oyster rich waterways of the SE.... Again, yall need to get out more.....
The blue crabs pictured are actually from Bluffton. But when I crab on HHI, they all come from a protected park right on the north end. A simple google search will show it to you. Giant sand bar right in between HHI and Hunting Island..... If you want more, I got tons of em.
Ohh one more thing. I have never actually taken a photo of local moonshine, but I have in fact enjoyed it on numerous occasions. If you ever do come down here, stop at the produce and fruit stand right before the bridge. Talk to the tall guy, grey hair, no teeth, answers to the name "Cuzz". He will hook you up with as much moonshine as you can fit in your trunk.
So did the Chesepeake Bay site buy them from you or rip them off from an online photo account? If they stole them you should protect the image like Surfline does. I always see pics there I want as my desktop but can't take em damn it!
Haha, no man. Those images obviously weren't mine. I don't store personal photos on my work PC. And I never use SI on my phone. It always comes across as if I am typing drunk. I just searched for blue crab and that one came up in nice, high rez. Honestly, a lot of people debate this, but the blue crabs down here are IDENTICAL to the chesapeake bay. They don't regulate them down here. You don't need a license of any kind, so they are somewhat over fished, but they taste amazing. Basically the same as up north, just not usually as large and meaty. But I taught they rednecks how to properly cook them, once they showed me where to properly catch them.... You guys run a tight ship here. I will definitely cite sources in the future, I was simply trying to convey what natural fish and game that we could bring to a thanksgiving dinner, based on the local waters and land. I have never shot a boar either, never will, but I know quite a few "Bo's" that take pride in it. At with a proper rub and some slow cooking, it would be a thanksgiving feast for sure. But on the real, I usually go for stock photos when dealing with SI, cause a few years ago, cats started getting creepy on here and like to make jokes about who we really are. And if they don't have the balls to show me who they are, I am not going to give you any real insight on who I am. The cats that I PM with on the regular know who I am, what I look like, where I surf, where I work and where I live. They are always invited over for a session or a beer with an open invitation.
Ohh, I get what you are saying. When I said the photo of the crabs are from Bluffton, I meant the ones in my sink that I just posted. The crabbing is way easier at a spot over the bridge. I was simply citing that the pic in question was from a waterway about a mile off the Port Royal Sound.... But while we are on the topic, these guys were from Port Royal Sound, North End, HHI.... And here is the baby gator that lives in my pond, since we are getting all personal. Gator meat taste like sh** by the way unless you grind it. Had to stop feeding the turtles with my daughter because of this little feller
Damn thats a nice gator. I had gator boulettes in a cajun place once that were awesome but never tried it any other way. Not trying to give ya sh!t about the photos just the way they were presented looked like you were rippin stuff off. I get what you meant now.
