Bros who paddled out today like Bi-stater and Slashdog: what was wind speed when you charged? Buoy is mad large here right now 15 at 11 at most spots MA to ME. Winds are in the 30s though for tomorrow but high teens in NH. Don't have a ton of time to invest in getting skunked or paddling out in gnarly danger.
You'll think about me all day manana, ditzpedo. You & your buoy sbx, aka sux, have an assignment: submit a term paper for your 10th grade homeroom prof entitled 'Why Yankee Is HOTY.' And, since you're now officially on my bandwagon, jackass, be sure to vote for me for HOTY. Since you've proven that although you can't spell, you seem to be able to read. Surf's up....
I wish I knew size of it. I took that from my office which is on the other side of the bay from the nameless island sorry of oc.
According to SI retrocast my spot was 20mph at the time of paddle out; I would guess a little higher, and the gusts were definitely much more stiff. I had a large board, walking back up the beach into the wind felt like climbing a mountain... If there's waves in the water you can't get skunked, but you can get f*cked up, and 15ft @ 11 is something I probably wouldn't f*ck with.
Surfed from around about 12 - 3 p.m at what I thought would be a somewhat wind - protected spot in Delmarva. When the steady 20-25 NW winds kicked in for several minutes at time the spray coming up the face made it tough to get over the edge. Then the gusts would subside and for a few minutes it would be more like 10-15. If a set wave came then, it was a good thing! I was surprised it would be worth 3 hours of it, but it was. Wind burned face tonight....love it!
