Just another endorsement for these terrific boards. My leash came off and my board got a great ride into the jetty I was next to. It bounced around on/off rocks for a good bit before I could get to it. I felt sick. Just got this thing less than six months ago and it was in perfect condition. As I climbed over rocks to get to it I was prepared for some horror. Ya know what? Not even a scratch. No dings, no nothing, nada. Could not believe it. Best board I have ever owned.
Don't need one to do so; I can even get to home plate without it. But as far as I can tell, to repeat, they seem to be a nice board.
I almost ran into a pier pylon yesterday with mine pulling into a tube. Wasn't worried becauz it's a coil. Really love my flashback fish. Can't wait to look into a qualifier.
Hey Gaff, when Kirk came by to drop off my M-80 he showed me some stuff on his phone that they've been working on. They're really open to a lot of things they weren't open to doing in the past. I know everybody is going to love this, but they are even doing SUP's now HAHA I just ran into a dude at the beach on Sunday and he just got him a Widerboard with grid tech. My M-80 is the smoothe tech, and I f'ing love it, I love my FBF with kick too, but the new one just glows! I rode them both in the same session on Sunday, conditions were perfect.

Agreed, and Agreed. Who knows, with the way they are growing, I could see other shapers being involved, that would be cool.
Heh...it came off when the velcro separated. Just getting old and losing grip.I guess I could just duct tape it nice and tight? Or maybe a zip tie.
But from what I understand they shape the blanks flat w/o rocker then vac them to a template for the rocker hence the "coil" name. Is this correct or did I hear incorrect info? Maybe that is why they don't use a CNC grinder I assumed and guest shapers are not possible. Please correct me if I am wrong. I also understand they are rather secretive about their process for fear of industrial spies. They are nice boards with very clean shapes but the one I rode bounced like every other stringerless EPS board I have ever ridden. Not that bounce is bad but I don't bounce well. They always look good on the used rack which is a testament to their durability.
I'm not really sure, they really don't like giving out too much info on the process or materials. They just let the boards speak for themselves. This is what I've been told, and after owning and riding two so far, that's all the info I need. Not sure what board you rode and in what conditions, but I can say that mine don't "bounce" or w/e. They are smoothe as butter. I would highly recommend another try. I personally ordered a custom without ever having ridden one before based off all the positive reviews. I figured, If I was going to try one, I would try one with it being made specifically for my size / weight, skill level, and for the area I surf. It turned out better than I could of asked, took my surfing to the next level for sure. Now i'm just getting familiar with my new one and it's going great too, in the right conditions. Just my .02
