I haven't had that happen to me but the other day I surfed in my 4/3 but couldn't find my gloves. The water was like 48 degrees and my hands got pretty cold. I wonder if it's the same type of thing.....?

Nope. My greatest discomfort is the cold forehead thing you get after a couple dunks.

Try wearing a turtle neck or a dikie (see pic).

There was one beach day where I actually took the board in for about 15mins wearing only trunks. I don't actually classify this as a surfing session because it was 16" wind chop, and I only "surfed" because I needed something to do. So, ipso facto, I never surfed wearing only trunks last year, and probably won't this year either. I guess that's the tradeoff for having lobster and nice people.

I try to avoid duck diving in the winter which is so hard to do and I always end up duck diving within about ins after getting in. My forehead freezes especially if I l have to go under for multiple waves in a row. I go from a 4/3 to a bikini (I'm a girl) I'll only use a 3/2 in the summer if it's super cold. I want a 6mm suit but I can't find one in my size
