I would guess the pay disparity might even be larger. In my field, environmental engineering/natural resource management, the pay diff for comparable jobs between where i live (southern Delaware) to Balt/Wash/Philly areas is more than that. Still, when you factor in cost of living I think you come out ahead making +/-$40-50k here than you would making $60-75K in Philadelphia. You can buy a small house with maybe 3/4 acre yard within 30 mins of all the DE/MD surf spots for under $200,000.
