Wow guys. Some real great students on here. You wont go far with less than 3.0 gpa. Dont waste your time and money on college if you're going to half ass it and surf all the time. College is hard work and expensive. Also, i believe for an out of state kid to go to any off the cali schools it would be hard to get in and it would be $40,000 yearly + travel costs. Think a lil bit yao. Thats just my 2 sizzentz..........HO
Ud, uncw yea dude... UNC wilmington is right by wrightsville beach and masonborough island. masonborough can get real good around 6-8 ft and wrightsville always breaks pretty good during swell. Ive been down there to visit and am thinkin about goin there. but you could also go to university of delaware and just drive to masaquan, new jersey. thats my second choice, both not bad ideas. yea I wouldnt really consider going anywhere that great if you only have a 2.5, pump it up some and work hard. I have a 3.8 and still cant get into uncw without a transfer from cape fear cc.
The ultimate mainland surf college, which is impossible to get into, is UC San Diego. The dorms overlook Blacks Beach, one of the best beachbreaks on the planet. Say no more. Some one mentioned Point Loma Nazarene in San Diego. I would say no to that cause the locals at Sunset Cliffs are ****s anyway and they cant stand students. But if you have to settle for an east coast school try UNC Wilmington or one of the community colleges in Florida. I went to UD and made the drive to the beach every weekend. Or you could go into a trade, start your own business, and take off for surf whenever you want to.
salisbury has a great pre-med program. probably one of the toughest tracks here. and salisbury has gotten harder to get into for sure, so whoever said that it hasnt is lying
Why would you drive from UDEL to manasquan, true this is a great break(my favorite in NJ and along with LBI..a street to stay unnamed), but its so far...i believe it is about a little more than 2 hours...go surf somewhere in delaware then...if you want to surf manasquan go to school at Monmouth...Monmouth it right on the water pretty much. Monmouth isnt more than a 30 min drive from manasquan
Schools Salve Regina overlooks Ruggles partially, locals are total idiots up there, called the cops once because out of state plates were parked illegally on the road (you need a fishing pass to park there) just because he didn't want us surfing there. Guys would come out talking about sharks, saying how good third beach was (which is a bay) just jerks honestly. good wave though, go to the point on other side of 1st beach though even crazier. Or you can try URHigh. Enjoy.
Stick with it My Best opinions out of thouse few would be momouth or cali since were in the mid east we mostly get evrything that hits anywhere and travels up the way
stupid I Honestly never thought you would need a pass but fewer sharks dont come up to the shore line i think its cold for them. But In My terms i agree
dude don't waste your money, with grades like that your going to end up at a private school that's going to set you back 80 grand . move to whatever beach you want to move to learn to bar tend or wait tables and get your degree online. and if you emancipate your self from your parents your going to score a ton of finical aid the only downside is you cant afford to get sick or injured unless you going to pay for insurance out of pocket .
agreed I agree with Billabong. With a 2.5 GPA your choices are going to be limited. Find the beach you want to surf and get a job at McDonalds. Be sure to ask for the night shift so you can surf all day. You'll probably score a couple of meals a day as well. Just tell the chicks and other people you are in the resturant business.
